@kenboy127: Mac supports both at the same time only if you bought a machine with a 64-bit version installed— just like Windows and Linux. If you bought a machine with 32-bit OSX, you'd be in the exact same boat.

@radiantchains: I didn't mean that they needed a detailed forecast. I just mean that old habits die hard. Sure the widget is there, and it displays sufficient information— but nobody remembers their widgets (except Phoshi evidently). Second nature kicks in and by the time they remember they installed that weather…

@ericesque: add an asterisk before the extension for the open dialog...but seriously who uses that? For me, it's either recent documents in the corresponding program, or hold shift and drag the file icon onto the shortcut on my taskbar (which performs 'open with').
Can't you just type the file name with the file extension you want? Then your drop down feels REALLY light weight— because you never see it.
I dunno. Microsoft seems to have turned the corner with most of their products. They're competing if not leading segments that they had become stagnant in. I'd love to see IE go that route if for no other reason than to push innovation across the board. I could see using IE9— providing they create a download…
@Dirk Anger: I think that's the direction. I can't remember, is firefox 3.7 going to end up being 4.0?
The build of firefox in that screenshot looks gorgeous! I don't brave the minefield, myself, but I'm looking forward to that theme. Strata40 is good, but not THAT!
@zaghy2zy: Fellow Zuner, now followed ;)
@Demonicume: I know exactly what you mean. I was well steeped in various counter cultures (including tech). When I finally kicked linux to the curb I started realizing there's a reason things are mainstream. They're not always necessarily "better", but usually they're easier. I'm done fighting the current as long…
@kokodhem: What is it hurting?
@JRoscoe: Silverlight does a fantastic job of streaming audio. I've not heard anything that compares.
Yes, I have silverlight installed. It provides the stunning UI for Zune.net!
@Phoshi: I was just thinking about fire the other day... a question that has come up several times in my head, but didn't remember to look it up until just now: What state of matter are flames? The answer seems to be gas and sometimes plasma— which is essentially the conclusion I came to when I was thinking about…
@grewal12: *Chandler picking up the phone* " Chandler Bing". Caller:"Whoa! Short message."
@theworldisasheep: I've heard of people buying touch screens and replacing the built-in screen with it. Haven't seen a specific article about it though. Bing is your friend.
@Bonsai_halcyon: I don't like the color changes and what not after the update today...
@Victor Lin: Are you wanting to try the data plan on the iPhone for a while, or do you want an iPhone with no data plan? Your goal isn't clear.
@farcedude: I don't know what you have, but it's worth mentioning that a 32-bit version of W7 will run much smoother with 1GB of ram than 64-bit regardless of processor support.
@Nitrokart knows CPR and took that guy's wallet: I based my university selection on a girl... even though I only went on one or two dates with her, the criteria ended up working out for me. It was a decent school, I met my future wife, and got a great job straight out of college.
