Is it just me or does the javascript on Google Blogoscoped not work?

mmmmm. clutter.

@Guigwime: You guys must not be configuring it correctly or using an unsupported version of Chrome. I installed adsweep quite some time ago and it works just fine.

@ericesque: This still isn't the article I wanted, but Bott covers the same how-to material in a condensed format here:

@spifl: Sorry, no. The article I'm thinking of was published on ZDnet and covered putting your W7 install disc in while XP (or Vista) was running to utilize W7's ETW to export your data and setttings, rather than XP's FSTW. I guess I could bust out some Bing-fu to find the article instead of relying on ZDnet's

Your best option for migration comes on your W7 disc!

If only the interface wasn't the greatest crime committed against aesthetics in history...

Thanks the maker! I wasn't looking forward to hand picking dvdXML files off of the website by the same name. Their search is worse than lifehackers! :P Can't wait to get home and install this to beautify my collection.

@TracerBullet: but how can a computer save my password if I'm dead?

I don't get the appeal of creating extra popups on a system. I don't care how pretty you make the popup, it's either in the way, unnecessary, or missed while I was away.

I have a system for multiplying by 9 that seems more complicated than it is. If X is the number you're multiplying by 9: The tens digit is X minus 1 and the ones digit is 10 minus X. Let's take 9*6 as an example:

Another attempt to catch up to Bing image search. The effects are pretty, but the interface isn't practical or efficient for image search.

VOTE: Other: Quit trying to feel us out with surveys, Gawker!!! #internet

@lucasbeth: For most of us, the software is useful primarily for scheduling. It can also handle incremental backups so you don't have to figure out what you've already put on your backup drive. #windows

When I decided it was time to get serious about backup I started buying discs in pairs. It doubles the cost of storage, but then storage is fairly cheap these days. I also may be atypical in that I don't maintain terabytes of movies on my computer.

@Phoshi: Can anyone comment on Rotten Tomato reviews? Are they usually worth going by? #openthread

@Phoshi: I'm using DynDNS's free service. Works nicely. No spam emails or recurring sales solicitations. #openthread

@cloud-viewer: Depends on how often you use it unplugged. If you're going to run the battery through a full cycle a couple times a month, you probably don't need to worry.

@Geoff: I believe this is only for those that don't have iTunes installed. #itunes

My eyes tell me $512 per year for a terabyte, but my heart tells me $256... #gmail
