I'd get worked up about stupid advice like this if it weren't for the fact that nobody who isn't already using linux is going to start doing it.

@n: Macs just work.
@UmpityGrumpity: mini di-florescents (lighting)
@birdguts: How was I being a dick? I was merely stating that we all know. We don't need a reminder about FOSS every time a tech news site posts about commercial software. Oh. Maybe it was the sarcasm...
@birdguts: holy crap! Is it really free? It's like a whole office suite that nobody on lifehacker knows about for free!
This is funny because I uninstalled the beta earlier this week. I was encountering all kinds of weird bugs. Figured I'd give it another shot when it hit stable... and same week... hm.
@foolish-rain: Actually, I find it very useful at work. I remote desktop into my workstation from a variety of computers with different monitor configs— sometimes dual monitors, always different resolutions. Fences keeps my icons in place rather than rearranging them every time my resolution changes.
@HeartBurnKid: Agent of R.O.A.C.H.: I assume that you no longer do this, but even your spam catcher should have a good password. Let's face it, at least one of the sites you've registered is probably using the same password as your real email account. A password retrieval system could then send your real password…
@Phoshi: Dude, Phoshi, first of all, psychiccheese doesn't really have a copy of the list, but now he has your email and password! Second, keeping your bank details in your email is just plain dumb... I hope your account info has been hacked. You get what you deserve.
@9house: I've been wondering the same thing.
@ThaMofo: While I can't say I agree, I'll take a stab at how the statement is possible:
@Hooray4Zoidberg: On my XP machine explorer does not include the actual file name in the 'full path'.
If custom builds of Chromium are going to be the norm, rather than people building actual plugins for Chrome, I might have to go back to firefox.
I just don't get why you're saying it that way.
I like the idea of the mirrors on the wall behind your monitors. I might borrow that for my basement office.
For programming I get into the zone with The Rolling Stones.
I swear I've seen that progress bar somewhere else, but I can't put my finger on it...
@FRIEDjellyWALNUT: After watching it a second time I thought it was cute. The 'more happy is coming' tag line is pretty good. The commercial does seem a bit scattered, but I've seen worse campaigns that seemed to do just fine — Quiznos, Jimmy Johns, I'm lookin at you!
@Mike Zuniga: That was Unexpected: 5 days! WOOT! I don't think there are even rumors in the mill though. I liked the W7 taskbar integration iTunes9 got, hopefully Zune 4 will have the mini player controls and jump lists... other than that any added features is just gravy. Zune 3 already has my feature wish list…
@dchall8: It appears your problem is that your monitor has not been equipped with an electrical socket. Better contact purchasing to get an updated model.
