The US republican primaries pretty much were choosing between a billionaire version of Honey Boo-Boo and 16 other arguably better qualified candidates (even if some of them were utterly unlikeable). Anything or anyone demanding some minimal intellectual effort from the audience is rather disfavored these days.

Yeah my wife suffered two compression fractures and while no surgery was required it was painful as hell for about a year. She still has trouble with it from time to time. On the plus side we always know when rain is coming :P
