Those commercials are more absurd than anything. However, being masculine isn’t necessarily toxic. Just because he’s a big guy with muscles doesn’t mean he’s encouraging people to treat women badly.

Danabajillion - OMG dude get over yourself, it’s 2018 people talk about this shit like adults.

What exactly is the business model of a cupcake place that only has 20 cupcakes?

Your loss. Believe-it-or-not, there are noticeable differences between the two.

Ok but perhaps consider your bar for what counts as “political” is REALLY high. Politics isn’t just elections and council meetings about zoning issues. Politics is the fundamental strategy humans use to figure out how to co-exist in societies.

‘They deserve our sympathy...we don’t need to understand them. We already do.”

When you start conflating the rights of minorities with the rights of wealthier taxpayers, it’s abundantly clear you’re not a progressive. Long before women’s lib, long before even the civil rights movement, both of which I staunchly support and consider to be essential components of any left-wing or liberal political

I do think it is possible for “Roseanne” the show to do that.

That’s not what the article is about.

It also eliminates the possibility that reasonable people can disagree because they have different priorities and needs. I actually think it would be great to see a family on tv where the members disagree politically, talk about it, and love each other as family all the same. I do think it is possible for “Roseanne”

Heres the thing, I seriously doubt the majority of viewers know or even care about Real Roseanne’s politics. The only reason I know about it is from coming on here and reading about it. Fine, she’s a crazy right-wing bitch. Am I so weak that I’m going to let her ideology sneak into my mindset by watching her show?

Yeah, I’m personally fine with them.

This episode showed why they’ve gone with the holograms, in the scene with the roundtable of Admirals. For a tv show that’s a much less clunky solution than spitting a viewscreen into quarters like it’s Goldeneye64.

I’d probably count myself as a continuity stickler. At least insofar as having a deep and abiding respect for how surprisingly well Trek’s canon holds up as internally consistent with respect to the fictional history of the 22nd-24th centuries.

Hold up. They are going to just straight up turn Star Trek’s season finale into Training Day with Mirror Universe Georgiou playing Denzel Washington’s character?

As I gotten older, I find I don’t care so much about comic book type continuity. Not story continuity, like A leads to B and then to C, plot and story wise. Continuity like how does this story done now fits into a story made 35 years ago with precise detail.

I said this last week, but the reason this happens before TOS is because it’s the only credible era to do this specific plot. After Nemesis, travel between the Mirror Universe and the Prime universe is trivial. You simply cannot be stuck in either, and the concept of a Terran infiltrator into Starfleet is always an

I think my hope would be for Stamets to make the decision himself and destroy the tech, along with his notes. Like Doc Brown ordering Marty to destroy the Delorean.

All of which is to say, we can at least have a discussion about how this show goes about its business without one of us stomping out of the room. But if you have a credible defense of why in the hell this is all happening before the start of the original series, I’m all ears. The more time goes by, the more
