Pat Ryan had a startling 13 year career (‘78-’91) — 12 spent with the Jets, most of which he never threatened for the starting gig — and threw all of 657 passes, or about 50 a season. Seems like the dude just knew his place, showed up for work, and left just as unscathed as he came.
