I get that, but this is still a very bizarre way to handle this situation.

lol at “we are currently looking for a mediator with the necessary qualifications” - pretty sure that’s called “the police”.

The Twitter COO Tony Noto has a wonderfully undemocratic response.

And of course, I’ve heard two Trump voters in my office say today: “The corruption is just open now. Obama and Clinton were even worse in secret.”

Really??? Remember that time Obama fired Comey for investigating his would be successor?

That dress was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. It’s Jenny Packham.

What’s with the name? It’s cringeworthy in this day and age. Makes me less inclined to actually watch it, despite my massive crush on Naomi Watts.

You’re rationalizing. I can’t stand her. I think she’s a legitimately terrible person who is advocating on behalf of terrible people who want to do terrible things. Mocking her for looking disheveled or skeletal or what have you are a means of sexist marginalization. You don’t have to be a misogynist to go for the low

I’m not clear on why an eye-roll is necessarily more dismissive/sexist than a spoken countering of her lies.

Yeah, absolutely, I agree.

Adele always looks amazing. I just can’t compare her to Chrissy. They just have too different of a size and shape.

Jeffrey Lord is a CNN employee though. He exists purely so that Anderson Cooper and Co. can clown on him. Kellyanne Conway is a White House representative. They’re not really in the same ballpark which is why I said Stephen Miller or some other bullshit artist from the White House.

but in a sense, this is her armor: she says utterly egrigious nonsense and, if scoffed at, claims it is due to sexism

Oh, so he should give Kellyanne special consideration because she’s a woman then?

Yes and no. Obviously the people in charge don’t endorse everything written by random strangers in the comments, but on the other hand, the discourse that takes place in the comments, and the sense of community between regular commenters, is a defining feature of the site.

I’m all about respect when respect is earned. I’m also about calling out people when they conveniently ignore their principles just because it happens to involve someone they don’t like. The fact that we don’t appear to have any problems howling about sexism whenever HRC is involved, yet immediately roll our

I understand what you’re saying and thought about it myself- but he’s rolling his eyes because of her consistent spin and doublespeak that we’ve all heard before. “Oh. This again.” If a man was as “good” as her at her job, he would’ve done the same thing.

Are you really saying that only women we approve of, women that are not idiots, are capable of being victims?

Jesus. I don’t think that’s what the comment is saying at all. It was an honest query—Yes. Conway is full of shit. We’re all on board for that. Yes. We love Anderson Cooper. He’s the best. And, yes. We all agree that the eyeroll was fully justified.

I don’t think the eyeroll. was sexism. But I do think the way people talk about her is pretty sexist, including people on this site. I know she is a terrile person, but terrible people can be victims of sexism. How she looks isn’t germane to anything. As just one example.

Conway has been the target of a fair amount of sexist shit since she took over as a Trump spokesperson—the most overt of which has involved the myriad times she’s been ridiculed over her appearance. So accepting that she does face sexism as part of her job, she’s also pretty bad at her job and I don’t doubt that the
