What’s the over / under on how many bad reviews it takes before he calls someone an incel?

It’s hilarious that Salty intentionally misrepresented the question in order to justify recommending a huge tip. Who honestly thinks that ordering take-out is the same thing as hiring a catering service? She’s straight up trolling at this point.

I was a huge Nirvana fan back in the ‘90's and I remember at the time there were always rumours that Dave Grohl was constantly writing songs for the band but that Kurt would always shoot them down. At the time it kind of came off like Kurt being an unreasonable control freak but then a few years later when the Foo

Yeah agreed, it’s kind of weird that you can’t express any criticism about the movie without being lumped in with the neckbeard manbabies who hate it for stupid reasons. This is a movie where cartoon space cows stampede through a casino so there are definitely things to criticize about it.

I’m really not here to defend Roman Polanski but I’ve got to disagree with you on this one. Sure, Jack Nicholson in the early 70’s was basically a cheat code (the guy has the most academy award nominations of any actor for a reason) but it’s really unfair to say the success of the film was entirely (or mostly) down

Yeah this; I feel like they need to cut the top and bottom 10% off the voting or something. There are always comments like “I don’t have the money to buy this so I voted CP” or “If I was as rich as Jeff Bezos I’d consider buying this so NP all day long.” Way to miss the point of the game guys.

Tiffany Haddish’s stand up is terrible. But don’t take my word for it, read any article you like about her sold-out stand-up set last NYE where she bombed as badly as any comedian can. None of her jokes landed (many of which were apparently about how awful it is to be famous), she had to read a bunch of her jokes off

Yeah this; I don’t know why comics in particular always have this problem but nothing popular can ever be considered to have artistic merit. If a book sells more than a dozen copies it’s too mainstream for consideration on year end lists. I feel like these lists lose credibility when they shun anything even remotely

It’s weird that people keep using phrases that are really only relevant in the criminal law context. “Innocent until proven guilty” “beyond a reasonable doubt”, etc., We’re not talking about throwing him in jail here, we’re talking about actors choosing not to work with him because they think there may be some merit

Damm dude, your neckbeard is kind of showing with all this “Vince Gilligan creates art for sophisticated individuals and not pablum for the bleating sheep like Shonda Rhimes” talk. It’s not like Breaking Bad is even all that, I think most critics (critical reviews are the metric you use to assess quality, right?)

Can you make an argument for why it should be Vince Gilligan over Shonda Rhimes? Like she’s made more money, reached more viewers, produced more shows, and her shows have been more influential on the medium as a whole than Gilligan’s. What’s your counter argument?  He’s not John Cale lol.

Yeah, it feels like Kate is trying to win off of a semantic argument here. Soup isn’t a meal so long as you define “soup” to exclude ramen, pho, and their various equivalents. Go to a good Chinese restaurant and order char siu noodle soup and tell me with a straight face it isn’t a meal.

He’d be competing with Shonda Rhimes in the “powerhouse producer” category and I don’t really know what argument you could make that he’s more deserving than her. By pretty much any objective measure she’s been much more successful and her work more influential.

Does anyone believe him? You’d have to be extremely gullible to believe him at this point. In a couple of months he’s going to post something along the lines of “So many of you emailed saying that you wanted me to write for House of the Dragons that I’ve decided to take a short break from writing Winds of Winter -

You must be new to this column, Salty’s takes and the comments are always hilariously biased in favour of the restaurant.

The IPA fad created so many terrible microbreweries because they could just keep adding hops to their mistakes lol.

I mean, if you’re a superstar athlete earning $30 million annually you can have a great quality of life anywhere.

So much this. I’m “only” 6'1" but my legs are on the longer side and any sort of public transit seating is excruciating. In a normal airline seat my knees hit the back of the seat in front of me no matter how I sit. I get that you want to recline your seat but my knees are already in that space - they got there first

Anyone who enjoyed this three hour wank-fest would welcome another 10 minutes of it. Seems like a good way to sell more tickets; nothing you can do is going to convince new people to come see it so you might as well try and get another round of money from the fanboys.

Let’s not put Tarantino on too high of a pedestal here, he’s a businessman like anyone else. In 2012 he edited Django Unchained for the Chinese market cutting out several scenes in order to get the film into Chinese theaters only for it to end up as a massive bomb over there anyway (it made under $3 million in China).
