The movie is unlikely to get a hard look from the Academy because the truth is it was a good movie. Now pause. It was not a great movie. We award great movies.

People who think this film is Oscar-worthy are delusional.

Usually it’s because your name is Steve Spielberg.

As good as WW was, it wasn’t that good that Jenkins deserved a nomination for it. It was a really good action/superhero movie, but that’s about as far as that goes.

I don’t think there’s any orchestrated effort to remove diversity from the Marvel roster. The fact is that most of these books just don’t do as well in sales as ones featuring white male characters, and that sucks.

I don’t care that they made a black Spider-Man, much like I didn’t care that they had a pig Spider-Man... what I did care about was the fact they killed off Peter Parker and replaced him with Miles Morales.

You think it’s stupid someone would like a character, and read a comic because of their characteristics?

“Oh, for fuck’s sake. America Chavez is a new character, you fucking douchenozzle.”

I think you hit the nail on the head. Just think of when Image or Darkhorse first hit the market. They had new characters and new ideas that blew Marvel and DC out of the water. The comic community is more than willing to spend money on new characters (regardless of ethnicity or sexual orientation). but “shoehorning”

Here’s the thing: She-Hulk had potential, but was dull as lightly buttered toast. This is the problem with Marvel’s attempt at diversity. It’s noble, and I encourage it, but they need to take more time and effort to make an interesting and fun comic, which they’ve struggled to do.

Yeah, weird how people want more of the same character they have grown up with and loved for years. Who would have thought that putting someone new in their suit who ticked a couple of the diversity list boxes wouldn’t keep those peoples attention.
I’m happy for diversity in comics. I enjoy different viewpoints and

Wait, you’re telling us that shoehorning women and poc characters into established roles hasn’t resulted in sunshines and rainbows for everyone? Maybe, as some of us said at the time, creating new characters would have been the way to go. Removing well loved characters to replace them with someone who ticks one or

Everyone is clapping at diversity, no one is buying the comics. Which is obviously a shame.

Wow just in time for fucking Bruce to come back and WWHulk II. Between Al Ewing’s superior Avengers books repeatedly getting the shaft, this new round of cancellations (plus never really giving these books the tools to succeed in the first place), and the Legacy initiative being a limp copy of Rebirth, I’m just about

I keep hoping that one day the people who get paid to write articles either a) learn, or b) show the wherewithal to say, “It was wrong, but the punishment shouldn’t be life-changing.”

The following three things are true:
-I don’t abominate Charles Pulliam-Moore’s writing or journalistic style.
-I do, however, think

Say what you will about Christopher Tolkien, at least he didn’t push out a pale, half-cooked continuation of his father’s magnum opus, like Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson did with (or rather: to) Dune.

Inevitable sequel trilogy by Kevin J. Anderson in 3... 2... 1...

Wait, so people would bitch and moan about DLC, and now they’re enraged that they CAN’T pay to unlock something? Fucking kids these days.

It’s a book called the “Hulk” with cover images of the Hulk on every issue, and no actual hulk. It’s fine to tell the story they want, but it was totally misrepresented.

I literally do not need to look at the author anymore to know her stories. They all are basically some variation on being outraged about something.
