This is the logical reason, but it was still hilarious to me to see FP lounging around observing all the high school drama and only stepping in way after things had gotten out of hand.

re: Archie, from the lighting I think he opened that liquor cabinet in the afternoon, and by the time Betty and Jughead get back it's evening. He's had a fair amount of time to get hammered.

I thought the long end shot was deliberate rather than an overestimate.

I agree with this. I'm deeply disappointed in the direction they've taken with Chuck and that episode with the hot tub was an absolute tone-deaf trainwreck.

I definitely think the whole waking in separate beds fully clothed was to signal they didn't go all the way.

Kevin's reactions are always stellar.

Re: the liquor cabinet, I'm guessing Fred never needed to lock it in the past and he didn't particularly think he needed to lock it this time. The growing pains Archie's been having weren't particularly alcohol-related, and Archie probably wasn't throwing ragers growing up. Fred probably still views him through the

Yes, that's what I assumed Betty was going for with that line because she wanted Veronica to come, not because she was pedantically correcting Archie on a common reference.

He was still wearing pants, Veronica was still wearing all her clothes and Archie was sacked out on the floor, presumably after having given Veronica his bed. I agree, if they wanted to imply Archie and Veronica did the do, there would have been a way more concrete implication. What we got doesn't add up to sex.

He is the guy who victimized women on the set of his movie. I see no reason why that shouldn't be included in the narrative about him going forward.

Afaik there's no releases of the text messages, but both women reported months of verbal harassment from Affleck that he often encouraged other men on set to join in on.

They had a father-daughter relationship, one which I believe Allen is quoted as saying is what made their relationship work. Living with someone isn't necessary for grooming.

I think it's minimizing when you use the latter to diminish the former. They aren't in the same category, you're right, so a conversation shouldn't start off with that comparison. What Affleck did was unacceptable, full stop. Just like what Chris Brown, Roman Polanski, etc, etc all did was unacceptable as well.

Yeah, like I said I'm not blaming John since he did apologize and acknowledge it, but the people who idolize the Beatles/his work and omit that fact about him.

If you google it you can find a fair number of articles which talk about how his behavior towards these women stretched over the period of months they worked on his passion project movie, which he ultimately ended up not crediting them for. It was both texts and verbal remarks.

There are facts regarding the mishandling of the case, Allen's story changing several times, so on and so forth. There's plenty about what he and his legal team are putting out that simply doesn't add up. Also, you can read Dylan's testimony, man.

Particularly since the verbal abuse went on for months, and was being perpetrated by their boss who also encouraged other male members of the crew to participate in it.

The facts are not with you on this.

Full disclosure, my heart absolutely sank when I read about the allegations against him. I don't hate his work, nor do I think Manchester by the Sea is a bad movie.

FTR putting Affleck up beside Nazis and pedophilic rapists doesn't really help your cause.
