I kind of like Kang.   I even marginally liked the Fast and Furious franchise (despite being a girl).  However in no way do I want to see Magnum PI turned into a Fast and Furious TV franchise.  It sullies the memory of the original series.  Just hope there is more for Kang to do beyond race fast cars and crash them.

Guys, guys, guys, you are missing the point. The car crashes reflect the vapidness of today’s producers and writers. Obviously they aren’t targeting the market that was attracted to the original series. This one is targeted (obviously) to 11-13 yr old boys or their older 23/24 yr old brothers, who play way too many

I’m sure Jay Hernandez is a very nice guy.  He’s attractive in a pint sized way.  But under no circumstances is he credible as the charismatic and goofy Thomas Magnum as played by Tom Selleck.  Selleck made us believe he was Magnum.  Hernandez looks like a wannabe playing dressup.

Exactly!

That is a massive understatement.  I think the developers of the reboot really have no idea that the original series was deeper than about a handsome former Seal driving a Ferrari.  And Selleck was a better actor, as he has proven in his movies and current series, than he was ever given credit for.  The chemistry

He probably wishes he could be given this revolting development.

Thank you for saying exactly what I am thinking, except I can’t articulate it as well as you do. I will be very surprised if this reboot is successful for all the reasons you state. I think they’ve miscalculated and probably underestimated what made the original Magnum, PI so iconic and successful.  The storylines,

The difference between Magnum PI and Murphy Brown is the original cast will not be back in Magnum -it is totally derivative whereas the Murphy Brown is the original (for most part).  They were hilarious in the 80's, they will be hilarious now.   Jay Hernandez and the other cast members cannot replicate the unique

Tonya is not from Dallas. Think Ft. Worth area.

You have the same type of wealthy people in Dallas. There are the nouveau riche, and the old money. Then there’s the billionaire white trash like Jerry Jones.

Yes it is.
