I speak Portuguese, and was torn between associating this word with the English "deception" or the Portuguese "decepção", with also means disappointment.

Whoda thunk it?

its really bad when the 1/4 Mile is quicker than the 0-60. I took a drive in a friends VW Diesel once, made my Chevette feel like a Corvette.

Cupholders.

Easy: Alloy wheels. Because plastic wheel covers are the velcro shoes of the automotive world

Gotta be the little disk of Shag Carpet on the dash that my Nissan Cube came with.

The Dodge Caliber was by many accounts a questionably built mid-aughts Chrysler product. It did, however, have one really cool feature (dad pun intended): the air-conditioned “Chill Zone” glove compartment. It only worked when the A/C was on, but it was perfect for keeping your Mtn Dew, Surge, or Red Bull cool on

I always thought these were pretty cool cars and a nice effort from Ford (first SVO car?). Glad that they didn’t mess with the stock look, inside and out (though the cueball shifter would be better used in a hot rod or 60s muscle car, but easy enough to replace).

I get that these listicles are supposed to elicit a response, but man this is a bad list.

I dunno, this does it for me.

That boot leather must taste mighty fine on a Monday morning.

That just shows a complete lack of care on behalf of the owner that you wonder about what else is lurking underneath. Also, if that is such an easy fix, why haven’t they done it? I can understand not doing the service, although that should be reflected in the price, but a simple clearing a code? The only reason not to

LOL man it’s been decades since I heard that ol thicker steel line. I mean buy which ever brand you like. Reminds me of Corvette guys trying to explain why THEIR Corvette is super rare....

Fair enough, I just remember growing up in the mid/late 90's if you removed the badges you couldn’t tell and GMC apart from the Chevy stablemate. Though not that big trucks have gone upmarket and more luxury, I think GMC’s are, luxury wise much nicer than the Chevy stable mate.

My best memory about Saturn was their no hassle sales tactics at the dealership. “If you want to talk someone, come inside. Otherwise, we’ll leave you alone to walk around the lot.”

Agreed. Saturn was also selling to something like 85% conquest customers for GM... in other words, they weren’t even considering other GM products and were mostly import buyers. I believe this was true up until 1999-2000 or so when they started selling poorly rebadged Opels (the L-series wasn’t horrible but it was

I legit thought it was a Lotus when I saw it for the first time.  These look so cool but have an absolutely gutless powertrain.  If GM actually put some power into this platform I might buy one.

I legitimately have no idea what brand this car even is.

every time it was made more mainstream, we didn’t sell any. And when it was goofy, which the automotive press loved, there were only 100,000 people in the whole freakin’ world that wanted one.”

Much as I loved all of my Saabs, Saab should have died in 1990. GM was just life support. GM COULD have done what Ford did with Volvo and set them up for future success, but they didn’t, they just ignored them for a long time, then too little, too late.
