I suspect Audi was worried the 1st gen looked too much like a Beetle and was thought of as “girly.” They made it look a little more aggressive and it lost its charm. Also the baseball stitching didn’t age well.

I’ve only seen one in person in red. It looked OK, but it looked like a $100k SUV and it costs over $200k. Bentley and Rolls have always been slabby and Lambo has always been ridiculous, those traits lend themselves to SUVs. I just don’t think it’s possible to make an SUV beautiful enough to work as an Aston Martin.…
Eh, cut those old farts some slack Erin. Most of them drive less than twice a week and those parking lots are 80% Nissan Rogue.
I dunno. Brodozers don’t use words like fragile or spiteful or body-shaming.
Manuals aren’t more expensive because they are more fun. They are more expensive because they are low-volume. I agree with the rest of your post. Except that being middle-aged and living in Los Angeles, manuals are much less fun 95% of the time.
It’s manspreading for people that don’t take the subway.
I owned a Scion iA, after Toyota killed off Scion it was sold as a Yaris iA. It was a Mazda 2 with a much uglier front fascia. I bought a center armrest kit off of Canadian ebay because Toyota didn’t offer it. I got in a frustrating argument with a co-worker that insisted ALL Scions were made by Toyota.
Super annoyed…
To be fair, according to the published stories, there is little chance Musk himself was aware of this bullshit until it broke publicly. Pie ordering just doesn’t go that high up the chain, and pie canceling probably only goes up one link higher. I hope he does the right thing here, and if he doesn’t he’s a dick for…
I second satin jobs. I assume they are harder to maintain but maybe I’m just not very flashy.
I’m surprised the originals weren’t acid-washed.
Looks great (except for the wheels) and $10.5k isn’t a bad price for Los Angeles. I live there and I think they will get asking or very close to it. ND from me, but not by much.
I’m still holding out for a purple Datsun 610 wagon with white interior.
Can someone help me this has been driving me batshit. I parked cars in ‘93. I would swear that there was at least one Infiniti model that had white or off-white gauge faces. But when you turned the lights on, the faces looked dark with light markings. That reversal was a really cool effect. Google just shows me custom…
Lincoln Mk VII - 1984.
The predicted Roadster price is 3 or 4 times the predicted 3 Plaid. There’s been a market for sport sedans for about 40 years. But it does make less sense, considering Tesla isn’t in racing.
Yeah. I’m not seriously shopping Jags, but I can’t think of a single model in the marque’s entire history that I’d want less.
Nice looking, honest transport. Not quite highway robbery. Frontage road robbery. ND.
I think I need to see one of these in person to get an idea of the scale. In every picture I’ve seen, these look terrible to me, and I’ve owned boxy. I’ve had a Volvo and an Element and an old Grand Wagoneer. I should be all over this.
That link says there are 2 stations within 3 miles of my apartment in the L.A. area, and if that $40k discount isn’t bullshit, the car would cost a little over $20k. 72 months at 0% means a car payment of $282/month. That’s if the sales tax is based on MSRP, I’m not sure when that’s calculated. Plus $15k in free fuel.

Abatement by definition means that rodents got at it.
