So basically, there’s to good reason the LX450 should be worth less than the Land Cruiser becasue all the fundamental mechanical pieces are identical.

That doesn’t answer my question about Land Cruiser spec manufacturing tolerances.
The reason Toyota doesn’t sell more is because the Lexus has more broad appeal than the Cruiser. If more people wanted the Cruiser, then they would import more. It’s that simple.
I never mentioned drifting. I mentioned payload capacity and turning radius.
Yes. Some assembly required to get rid of the luxury bits.
That crowd plays in a really detached circle and they all die tragically early in easily avoidable accidents that even ordinary wealthy people have no way of getting themselves into.
I thought VW van owners use their air of superiority to magically lift the van from place to place.
Also because it’s much easier to design a vehicle with a higher payload capacity when it’s RWD. Yes yes. Fiat Ducato/Ram Promaster tragedy. But that’s a tragedy.
Based on what we are able to figure out, this must be the case. Since Alabama is the only place where the 3UR is manufactured, it’s likely they ship those over to Japan for installation.
But then there’s the extreme snobbery of those who ONLY buy the E Class estate. You know, because the GLE is made in ‘murica, so it’s gotta be crap.
If Toyota took crazy risks, they wouldn’t be Toyota.
I thought the LX450 was hydraulic. Or was it optional?
Because better.
I just want to pretend I’m an angry Taiwanese or Hong Kong minibus driver.
Open secret is that the GX is much better than the 4Runner. With the GX, you get a full Prado minus the diesel.
If it wasn’t for the suspension, the LX would be the better used car bargain. The LC community has a weird reverse badge snobbery.
1HD Coaster bus with a manual transmission. J/K, but I have a fetish for those.
Also, the lower use it and abuse it versions of the 200 series can be had for ~$60k. That’s roughly GX460 territory.
Because the air suspension is garbage. Get rid of that and I don’t really care.
