Yet, their most important market is the United States (even over Germany in some regards). Once again, actual costs are not much different from the other guys and they’ve been successful at marketing this perceived superiority and charging you a huge premium for it.

If it had a real HD transmission, 0-60 would be like 30 seconds. Of course it could probably tow 50,000 lbs, but now that’s just scary.

And it looks like they did very little to differentiate from the MB generic steering wheel.

But the interior pieces don’t look like it.

Now playing

And Mk I Cortinas has rear suspension linkages that would fail. Just like any good Lotus, it worked really well when it worked because it was designed single mindedly. All the more to make it legendary.

Ahh ha! I knew it. It was a cynical ploy to upsell a GMC.

I’ve stayed at a UK Travelodge before. What the guy did might actually be an impromement.

The interior wasn’t much either. Even for 80s~90s suprcar standards.

I’m actually curious how much they bought from tier 1 suppliers. All the major interior pieces look nabbed off German cars. The other question is, did Bosche, Continental, any others care where these parts were being used?

And they’re diverging from that “perfect” displacement. Most of it was to satisfy tax bracket legislation in the EU. Engines not destined for ROW can use displacements that are better suited for max torque, etc.

Wow. That steering wheel is straight out of the BMW/Mercedes/every current German car parts bin.

And it would look so much more tasteful!

I never got past T-ball. Let me have my moment.

Money?

Where’s the RR Superleggera edition?

Also when I eat a ton of beans.

Nothing says badasser like being name Carlton.

You mean hybrid like a B18C5 head on a B20 block?

And headrests with the square hole. So 90s!
