I honestly don’t mind the idea of self-moderation. If it’s a game or type of game that you as an individual don’t like or are offended by, cool, you can choose to not see it without taking that opportunity away from everyone. This approach isn’t without issues but allowing a small, loud contingent to monitor or affect

I’d be curious to see live subtitles. I’ve never really used them as I don’t need them but their quality, based on what I’ve seen in public, is pretty low. That said, with a $240-million investment, surely they have the resources to add something. Blizzard has really skimped on a lot in terms of viewing experience

I’m not saying they shouldn’t, I’m just curious if anyone has implemented anything like that in a major eSport. If not, the conversation should focus more on the industry as a whole.

Let’s go back and try reading what I wrote:

Overwatch itself lacks gameplay subtitles or other options for visual indicators of important sound cues. I’m sure Soudakoff is far from alone in wanting to better enjoy Overwatch, so maybe it’s time for Blizzard to get on that.”

Are there any major eSports that have subtitles for casts during live broadcasts?

Eh, NYXL’s greatest strength is the entire team’s consistently high form and high degree of synergy. Jjonak pops off but he’s also invested in to a higher degree than any other Zen by a significant margin.

This meta shift has been big. Even with a top-tier Tracer in EFFECT, they never clicked with Dive, not only during that period of the team’s history but throughout their history as nV too. A return to deathball AND Mickie being able to be effective on Brigitte have been huge, his D.Va play has been generally terrible

You’re welcome to take it as that, I was commenting on a fundamentally poor comparison where you tried to argue against Brigitte having high burst by comparing her to a DPS character...every DPS character can deal higher burst than she can because that’s their role.

She’s an M1 machine who heals herself as she does damage, has a shield for added protection, and has mobility. Her kit offers way more as far as survivability than Ana or Zen, that’s what allows/requires her to play close while they’re able to play as backline supports (which opens a different degree of

I’m just saying that it’s not raw burst that defines the issue people have with her combo. It’s that for a braindead combo, it does a lot, and it has a heavy CC element to it which can frustrate people further.

Ana’s isn’t reliable. She has to actually hit her shots, via quickscope or noscope, and actually hit her grenade, which isn’t as easy as it should be in the closer quarters scenarios where her burst really comes into effect.

They have different roles though. If you’re going to make a comparison, don’t try to defuse the idea that a support has high DPS by comparing her to the king of trash damage. The comparison is strong in that both require a minimal amount of mechanical skill to pull off though.

Wew lad, let’s cool it with the blatant homophobia.

Twitch chat, at least for eSports, isn’t something that’s supposed to be read. It’s just a stream of memes, copypastas, and emotes. It doesn’t really serve a purpose but it honestly can add a ton of hype during major events.

You’re not drawing investors if your game isn’t eSports viable (ie. Fortnite) so the proper comparison for eSports viewing numbers is to compare it against other eSports. Again, I know you’re coming from a place of total ignorance on the subject, so I’m happy to slow it down for you. The NA LCS, for comparison, as a

You’re still trying to compare a non-eSport game to an eSports broadcast. It’s really cute that you’re STILL convinced it’s a relevant comparison; it’s not. TIL Fortnite is more profitable/successful for investors than League, Counter-Strike, Overwatch, or Dota 2....wait, nope, that’s not how it works!

If only, I’m sure that would be more effective but I don’t think it’d be possible to stoop to that impossibly low level.

I mean, someone has to fight the ignoramuses and I’m happy to be the one to step up to do it.
