You’re kidding right? In 1995 the NMSL was repealed. Here in Illinois most of us are still waiting for 55mph to go away. Even the state legislature passed two bills over the governor’s veto to make it go away. It’s still here. Sorry, nothing that allows cops to hassle people and collect revenue is going to go away.

I’ve stuck to that guideline thus far (over 4 cars), and have driven interesting cars that I enjoy. It just requires buying older vehicles, which honestly isn’t that bad these days as good as cars have gotten. There’s plenty of blame to go around here, and it does start with Congress going back to the LBJ and Nixon administrations really, but the regulators have grossly abused the power that the legislative branch granted them.
