The funniest comparison I saw on the Car and Driver Instagram is that the M2 is almost identical in size to the Forester (minus the lift) except it's 400 lbs heavier.

My first motorcycle, an SV650 completely changed how I viewed cars forever. Growing up my dad had a manual Saab 900 and a Ducati st4. My first car was a VR6 GTI with a stick, and the torque was fun to learn to drive manual. But a beater 1600 dollar 01 Suzuki just rewrote my brain. The light weight in corners, the…
I don't think it's so much that people want to watch the same movie. It's that airlines would have the potential to cut costs by broadcasting a single movie instead of having in seat entertainment. And where there's potential to cut costs they usually jump on it.
These two? Maybe not. But if you follow Sean Macdonald (who used to write the motorcycle feature here) He's done a lot of photography and promotional work with Indian.
Aircraft mechanic here. This is a total non issue. There’s a lot of warning messages on the current A320 family for instance that only go away with the “Airbus Reset” shutting off power, waiting five seconds, then booting back up.
As configured where I work our max 8's have 16 fewer seats than our 757-200's. That’s two rows of seats and the emergency exits deleted.
My girlfriend and I fit the broke last minute traveler category. Back in 09 we had just graduated high school and she was in Raleigh going to NC State and I was living in Charlotte. I didn’t have a car reliable enough to make the trip frequently and in the middle of the recession didn’t have any chances at a decent…
Some classic Rays Volk wheels and this Mugen fixes my biggest complaint about the Type R which was all the big awkward flat grills. Especially since it's all functional.
It’s a pretty decent jump from 23k for the SI to 27 or 29k for a WRX. Especially if you live in a region where Subarus sell hot enough that dealerships don’t give many discounts off msrp.
Adding 1000 pounds of Alcantara leather and metal switchgear to a 370z wouldn’t suddenly make it a competitor to the Bentley Continental GT. And taking the carbureted V12 from the Ferrari 250GTO and putting it into the new 812 Superfast because muh heritage wouldn’t give Ferrari bragging rights for slowing the car…
There’s the image a company tries to sell and the way the brand is perceived. Even with the new stinger not many enthusiasts consider Kia a serious performance brand.
The scene might have changed for those already in it, but fast and furious resurrected it in the eyes of me and my ten year old friends. I was only two when the eg civic came out, but they still command a price premium here in Phoenix. There’s even a few race shops selling chipped ecu’s for d16's.
Jalopnik and the commenters care about safety and comfort above all, just read through the comments sections in any articles. Motorcycling doesn’t fit into that world view. It’s dangerous, often uncomfortable, and fun in a way that you can only know if you’ve experienced it and pushed limits.
You’re right, ever since they unceremoniously dumped MacDonald and Lanesplitter I’m sure Jalopnik doesn’t have a big enough following to make IOM TT coverage worthwhile. I don’t even except MotoGP coverage or motorcycle related comments that’s aren’t hysterical about the risks and the lack of safety.
I like that last line. Porsche Miami Blue? I’d turn my head for a Corolla. This looks like every other silver somebody picks thinking about future resale value.
A little apples and oranges in terms of mpg’s but I understand the sentiment somewhat. I’m not hating on cruisers, I have a modded out 2017 octane. Love the bike and it’s great on the freeway. The new fat bobs are very nice. Just 200lbs too heavy, and too underpowered, especially for the asking price of ten thousand…
I went and checked out the new Fat Bob after reading a cycleworld article about the new Milwaukee eight engine. You’re right that the fit and finish is good. Great looking paint and a nice feel. But then I walked into an MV Agusta/Aprilia dealership and a Tuono is 200lbs lighter with 100 more hp for 3k less. It’s hard…
I’m going to go out on a limb and guess the triumph was revved way higher, ridden a lot harder, and probably made more smiles though. It’s hard to ride those conservatively enough to get the good mileage that’s theoretically possible.
You mean people wanted something bigger than a 2 gallon tank on their retro machine ? Looking at you Harley 48.
Cerberus bought several firearms manufacturers, then promptly fired all the high timers. They then realized that those were the only guys who knew how to operate the machinery. For years they turned out products rusted from the factory made to unsafe specifications. Remington, Marlin, and H&R used to make nice non…
