I recently had this conversation with my girlfriend. You don’t buy a car to save money, you buy a MOTORCYCLE to save money. Makes perfect sense.
It doesn’t help Honda that most of their Acura’s are still FWD with AWD options, and that most people are aware that they are pricier versions of the Accord, Civic, etc. Toyota/Lexus and Nissan/Infinity figured out early on that they need different platforms to really push into the luxury market.

I think powersports are your answer. ATVs, Snowmobiles, Motorcycles, Dirt Bikes, Go Karts. Leave traditional cars behind, and enjoy some unregulated, unsafe hooning, just as it was meant to be.
Y’know, not to get too gloomy’n’doomy about this (but I am), but high-performance halo cars and racing participation and the like made more sense when people cared about that kind of stuff - and makes much less sense now, when we’re all excited about automatic braking and fuel cells and autonomous mobile wifi pods…
You and I seem to hold Honda’s offerings from the last decade in pretty much the same light.
It’s a pretty tragic fall from grace, and one gets the sense they don’t even realize it’s happened, still.
I once bought a Volkswagen. Everything broke.
It’s road legal everywhere that’s awesome, and daily drivable for everyone awesome.
If that truly were the case, I’d never see a VW on the road.
Full disclosure: I’m an engineer who hates to spend more than $2k for a bike. Do a review on a $2k bike and I’ll read the whole thing. It’s not that I don’t care, it’s that I don’t do cocaine because it’s too expensive.
