It isn’t the backing up that’s the problem, it’s a lack of awareness. During driving. Nobody has a backup camera on when a motorcycle comes up from a rear corner and they end up almost hitting the bike out of obliviousness.

I know I’m late to the party, but there’s an entire segment of unassisted steering out there. It’s just on two wheels...and holy hell it’s great.
Not my house obviously, but that’s the average winter day in Phoenix if you want to visit. We’re the prime market for Tesla, it being sunny and clear all the time. It’ll be 38c today, let me know if you want to dry out haha.
Unless you live in the southwest, which is the prime market for solar panels. Houses on the Phoenix valley use clay tiles almost exclusively.
I live in Arizona, and if it isn’t a pickup, then it’s a sedan. If you see a hatchback, it was bought by somebody who a) got a killer deal for it on the lot or b) is a VW enthusiast or JDM bro.
Maybe they’re expecting us all to ride cruisers with massive windshields in the future.
MkIV represents the epitome of VW functionality. The styling might be bland to some, but everything had it’s place and was well layed out. They hit a good mix of the blockiness of the MkIII and rounded IV’s. The only thing they’re missing is tartan seats.
I know this isn’t Lanesplitter, but this guy is literally the target market for an electric motorcycle.
Seems like that would compromise the strength and water resistance in the rain. Just a thought.

I replied to a guy above with this, but at American the 15% of travelers in first class make up 60% of the revenue. Every single one of their cost analyses show that people in coach care about low cost as their single most motivating factor.
So people either need to shell out more money, or start really changing their…
I got linked from another kinja site too late to make a general comment.
Air travel sucks in coach but at American the 15% of first class passengers bring in 60% of the company revenue, so almost everything is geared toward them, since money talks.
While the fleet is updated with new planes being added constantly,…
Just a preview of what’s to come here in the states. Nobody here can afford their cars either, and delinquency rates are already on the rise. Once the tenuous housing bubble on the west coast collapses a second time, the car market is going to have another round of troubles.
This is actually pretty handy. Here in Arizona you don’t even get out of the suburbs before the cell network stops working. You need a good god just to leave home. Having a map stashed in the car or bike could save your bacon.
The funniest unintended consequence of this is that tire widths haven’t followed suit as it would be unnecessary.
Maybe it’ll become the next big gambling series. If they’re pre-programmed, you unleash the cars and start betting to see who finishes.
People couldn’t care less about Yamaha vs. Honda, we watch week after week to see Rossi duke it out with Marquez, or see Lorenzo try and get his confidence and momentum back.
So we’re going to take a car from a maker whose styling the last decade has left a little to be desired, and throw in an engine from a marque that not more than a week ago you wrote are total shit. Then we’ll slap on one of the most iconic badges from the 90's and it’ll sell even better than the last one! Good luck…
When you’re on a bike, you go for the “the best defense is a good offense” kind of thinking. A quickly applied twist of throttle gets you out of the way of most accidents.
Why do it? For some people (myself included) it saves a lot of time on the commute. I live in Phoenix and there are HOV lanes on all our freeways…
This was the perfect question for this week. I thought of you Doug as I pulled into my local Walmart parking lot and found somebody so proud of their Touareg that they got this euro style vanity plate. May the car Gods have mercy on their soul.
Counterpoint: Living in NYC sounds terrible to somebody not from there.
