WHAT UP FISHES?!?!??!!!

There’s something that’s been preventing me from diving into the Pi or the Pi Zero or any kit available out there... I have an “old” iPad 1st Gen just sitting in my nightstand drawer which I pull out once a month to see if the battery needs charging. I’m a tinkerer at heart, and every time I see one of these

Best of luck to you, Whitson. I’ve enjoyed your posts since the beginning and will be sure to follow what you’re up to at how-to geek. When you took over the reigns, I knew I’d be sticking around LH for the foreseeable future. Alan’s a great guy, too, so I’m confident he’ll make sure things keep running smoothly as

You are not alone. I, too, eagerly await a 5S-sized new phone. We small phone supporters need to vote with our wallets when the 6c comes out. I’m also hoping the rear-facing camera will be flush with the iPhone body. Steve Jobs would never have let the iPhone 6/6S to market with its wart of a lens sticking out like

Count me in as another user that’s holding on to his 5S until the bitter end. I can accomplish all regular daily things I need to do with my 5S, but with one hand. I can even put it in my front jeans pocket, and even get it out of my pocket while sitting in the car. I used the 6 briefly, did not like the size and not

in all seriousness, with multiple people, I vote to lay down in a circle with each person’s head on the next person’s butt. Cusion the cranium.

Oh MY GOSH. I thought it was only me or my phone or the government. There have been times when I could hold my iPhone’s speaker up to my hear and hear the “silent audio” hiss. Damn you, facebook. But thanks for ‘fessin up and fixin’ it. :)

Same here, wish I could make it but I’m in south OC, which makes the travel distance a bit too far for me. Would have loved to meet you, shake your hand and also meet the LH team in person after being a reader for so many years. Just re-read your “Age, in the digital age” hackerspace post a few minutes ago. :)

My comment may come off as a bit tongue-in-cheek — To convert my DVDs to media files: Step 1. Find the torrent. Step 2. Profit. Questionable-legality aside, it’s easier to let others do the work. I own many great sci-fi dvds from years ago, but instead of taking the time to rip them and possibly failing, or resulting

Like honestly its not the fact that you prefer Colgate over Crest but it’s really annoying to hear everyone pretend that fighting cavities and plaque are something new. I bet Colgate will fight tartar next and everyone will lose their marbles over it.

Here is an actual email from a “CONSULTANT” that was hired for a company I worked for back in 2004... I have bolded the best parts of the email for your skimming convenience.

I use the m705. I have the wheel always in hyperscroll mode. I wedged a piece of foam on the side of the wheel to give it a more friction since the wheel spins almost TOO freely otherwise.

Hi, I’ve seen you make the same grammar mistake twice in two different comments. If you want people to take you more seriously, you should replace the “then” in your “less then 2 kids” to become “less than 2 kids” ~~ I’m not trying to be a jerk, just trying to help.

A lot of things I don’t like about Apple wouldn’t have come about if Steve Jobs was still around. I say this with my utmost sincerity - Starting with the iPhone 6 camera lens that’s not flush with the body all the way to the way they designed the Apple Music app.

i’m pretty good at “computers” but faxes baffle me too.

I’ll preface this by saying that I’m the kind of person that make sure I have the same mouse at work and at home.

Good answer! I have noticed that getting to LAX via 105/Sepulveda has been absolutely terrible this past year. Last month my wife and I drove 2 cars to LAX; she took 105W, exit Sepulveda while I took 405, exit Century. I arrived a solid 15 minutes before she did.

That’s interesting. Google has owned Waze since 2013

One thing I noticed that Waze doesn’t do well is consider traffic lights. It seems to assume that you’ll make all the green lights when it tells you to take the local streets when the freeways are congested. Just recently, the 2 possible freeways I could take home were red so Waze took me on this

I used to be afraid of becoming too dependent on GPS. But nowadays I’ve completely given in to Waze. Just because I know the shortest route on how to get from South Orange County to LAX, I don’t know traffic conditions. That means I need to rely on a traffic-aware GPS app like Waze to tell me whether I should take 5
