I saw footage of the executive crew watching the Phantom Menace for the first time... their concern was palpable. Even Lucas’s. And then they all stood up and told George in muted voices that he really had something there to make him feel alright about it.

Which I maintain would have been fine if it hadn’t STARTED out in deep space with a exposition dump of everything cool about the Guardians and Corps that the audience would have otherwise enjoyed finding out alongside an awestruck Hal.
Instead, they crammed all the epic coolness into a hobbled few minutes before

Agreed, but the idea that the stock market is any kind of reasonable actor is possibly the greatest fallacy of our current viewpoint on economics. Nobody who’s read the history of markets should expect reason or consideration so long as the traders are so divorced from real impacts of their decisions.

I find the 5 pretty much the perfect thickness, and also the perfect heft. As you say, the square edges are functional, and why they chose to completely half-round all the edges and give them the nearly frictionless matte finish eludes me.

For someone nitpicking typos, you don’t understand metaphor very well. The equivalency in question was responsibility.
And as to what that responsibility is for, we’re not “talking about polar bears,” we’re talking about the collapse of the major climate systems.

Okay, so hopefully Steve Rogers will be sticking around for a bit... now can we manage to get him in a great modern uniform at some point?

Yeah, that’s where I read them... and probably where JustinJump did, too.

While it’s equally uncharitable, I buy this view a lot more readily than the “He changed his mind because money” version.

Looks to me like they were going more for “Conan Underwater.”

Form factor is a huge feature to me.

My iPad 1 is just now getting ready for the pasture.
I can still use Kindle and Evernote, the apps that matter the most to me for iPad, and I can check and answer email. Safari is a tottering mess, though, and combined with the other stuff it won’t run that’s going to finally push me into a new tablet. I’m hoping for a

I prefer the second year versions- they’re always a refinement on the original idea, which winds up looking a little rough by comparison.

Or greater durability?

That camera bumping out the back just seemed inelegant and a little dangerous. There’s a reason our eyes are set in sockets!

Each iteration of the iPhone I thought, “Wow, they can’t possibly make a better object than this.” And every time, the next one proved me wrong. Until the 6. The 5S is, to

Thanks!

Actually, I think that the Trek Universe is the lynchpin that really sets this apart. The backdrop of the Federation, that we KNOW what your captain and her crew is splitting from, gives it a deeper resonance that can work without the show having to earn it. Standing on the shoulders of Giants, and all that.
Otherwise,

I wouldn’t want to see this show get another season, but a reboot? HELL yeah.
If Supergirl does well, I want CBS to get Berlanti on this job for 2017 premiere.

SG1? I loved that show, but... really?

I have heard that it’s great from several reputable sources, but not WHY it was great. Can you elaborate?

I thought I was the only one who saw this.
