Why on earth would that happen? Who would gain? What fan of Uhtred would want that?
Why on earth would that happen? Who would gain? What fan of Uhtred would want that?
Took me till the second viewing to be able to pick out which one Uhtred was, and even then I wasn’t sure until I hit up IMDB.
So no grand heroic or cunning scoundrel imagery in the trailer, but that’s not necessarily indicative. Trailers are always cut by different folks than make the actual property.
At least it looks…
I LOVED that young Uhtred was a shit. I don’t believe you get to be the man he’s become without being a bit of a shit for a while.
Why do people insist on making this Galaxy Far Far Away smaller all the time?
I have some hopes for The Last Kingdom, though I have no idea how they expect to address the timespans that are so key to making the books so great. Uhtred is a fine character, but what makes him great is that he does develop from book to book and within each book. The only way that works is his aging and how his…
With very different compensation in the long run. But that’s not really relevant.
What’s relevant is that someone else getting hit in the head with a baseball bat doesn’t make your leg any less broken when you get hit in the knee with one.
I love the composition here, but nonetheless it really looks cropped to me. The fighters bleed off the edges, and there’s not enough background framing Ren’s and Ray’s heads. The lightsabers and staff are similarly chopped unsatisfyingly.
The MCU is different than the comics, and they’ve shown that they’re smart enough to build on their own strengths, not just utilize those of the source material.
Falcon has always been B-List in 616, and it makes sense there. MCU Falcon has an asset that his four-color counterpart doesn’t though: Anthony Mackie. That…
“He was frequently the guy who stood quietly aside as his dysfuctional teammates engaged in their soap opera nonsense, but stepped in from time to time to keep them from completely self-destructing.”
...or occasionally not intervene. God, I loved that about Panther. That, to me, was always what it looked like to be in…
What I got from your comment was “I don’t know anything about this character, and I didn’t read the article informing me about him, but I decided to post anyway about how over superheroes I am.”
Good story, bro.
I’m guessing that you’re either not into comics or don’t live someplace with many black folks. Superhero comics are very popular with African American young men and boys. They’ve even got their own little sub-subculture. The Marvel films are also very successful with that demo.
This is one of the problems with being a…
This has been a pretty well accepted rumor, and it matches that Ford wanted Han to die in both Empire and Jedi. Since Ford needs this role less than the other returning originals, and is the fan favorite, it makes sense that the studio would do what they can to make him happy.
I think one of the “kids” is more likely…
I hope so. And tighter, more traditional spandex. Pnather can pull this off in live action, where many heroes can’t.
Priest’s run was the best BP. The MCU is clearly taking cues from that in costuming, as well as including the character of Everett Ross, so that’s what I’m hoping for.
Okay, this is pretty cool- I like the design generally, and I’m glad he’ll be scaling walls and such.
But, fairly minor quibble: I was hoping we’d see something more genuinely skintight superheroey rather than another suit that looks like tactical military gear. That worked great for Cap, but the various characters…
Well, also Han is going to get a big heroic arc in this because it’s his final chapter. The twins will have two more movies to complete their own tales, and will likely have a bigger role then.
Yeah! What the heck does it need the armor - let alone that giant headpiece - for? And why was it once painted blue? GOOD Star Wars art direction leaves you convinced there’s a reason while rarely actually giving you the reason.
“the ends justify the means if you think you’re going to bring order back to the galaxy”
And of course, there WAS actually some of this going on in the German army, especially as the war drew on. But that’s the thing about the baddies- they’re not famous for just letting you disagree with them.
