I would actually be interested to see it continue with the budget cut. Trim the cast a little, cut down on the SFX, lose some locations... might not be bad for a show that's showing signs of Lostitis and needs to be tightened up.

Esp. if Fox is producing the show itself.

I'm with you on first season shows, and we're not alone. Time shifting, DVD and OL delivery have changed what success means, but the networks haven't changed how they measure it.

I likd it, too. It was in the best vein of X-Men comics, where the family dynamic, personal history, and character development are in the forefront.

To my understanding, nothing is filmed FOR trailers, but the trailer editors get access to almost everything that got on film, and have to start working before final edits. Sometimes you see alternate takes or lines or scenes that were entirely cut from the film- not just re-edits to shift tone via context.
