There really is a difference between letting your influences show, and indeed celebrating them through new work, and rehashing the same exact thing in new clothes. The difference between Led Zeppelin's relationship to the blues and Coldplay's relationship to U2.

Yeah- this is an obvious one that's missing from the list. Furthermore, it's distinct, as opposed to many of these, which are facets of the same couple principles.

That's a Speak'n'Spell he's got there... but you probably wouldn't recognize it. It's pretty old-school. E.T. was into Coleco before it was retro.

NOW I understand why Jim Lee put every DC character in the same stupid mandarin collar- it's so the toys would be easier to make!
