The thing is, she’s conflating being a garbage human because she has HSV with being a garbage human because she lied and has robbed her partners of agency over their own health. The two are oh, so very different.

Another point: Most standard STD panels *don’t even test for HSV*, because it’s common enough and considered not medically dangerous enough to be worth the effort on the part of the lab. So, even sharing testing results doesn’t ensure your partner doesn’t have it.

It’s not. This is the worst advice I’ve seen in this column in some time. And I say that as someone who is HSV-2-positive.
