Setup a 360 in court on a stable flat surface, go as far as to setup one of each 360 model variation. Put the same game in all of the consoles. Allow it to play for a set amount of time, eject the discs and then check for the scratches. This is the only way you’ll have OFFICIAL proof if this issue is legitimate.

We went through around 6 consoles in 8 years, the red ring issue was ridiculous and occured a lot. But not once did we ever have scratched discs caused by any of the consoles.
