I’m glad you’ve pointed this out! There are signs everywhere in Japan explicitly asking people to not just stand on one side of an escalator. This seems to me one of the only cases I know of where the Japanese break an explicitly stated rule in favor of some unspoken societal rule.

Counterpoint: I think a lot of people love this series *because* of the super janky animation. Personally, I find it really endearing for some reason. And the first season really subverted people’s expectations because the plot ended up actually being really good.

Yes!  And what’s also incredible is that each Persona game (3, 4, 5, and Q at least) has a very distinct sound.  You can generally tell which game a song came from, even if you’ve never heard that particular song before.

I’m a big fan of these console-specific gimmicks, even if it means they can’t easily be ported to other consoles.  Another good DS-specific example is closing the DS in Phantom Hourglass to transfer something from the top screen to the bottom.
