I’ve personally been enjoying all episodes and loving several but I agree that the episodes are really long and has some pacing issues.

Every example you gave aside from the train crash footage are staged stock images that do actually have context (it just happens that female looking at computer is enough context for what it is, a model paid to look at a computer for that scene), they’re not news stock images but they still have info.

Since I can only assume you missed the point with your examples, the footage in Travellers was used to illustrate a made up disaster, not the actual incident (that just happens to have happened 5 years ago).

Actually no, stock footage always has context and information. News images can also be stock, it’s how media outlets end up sharing the same visuals. The production company decided to ignore that context.

I mean I personally draw the line at 47 people dead just five years ago but you do you I guess.

Movies and shows show actual footage alongside the actual context all the time (ie having characters see the disaster happen on tv indicating they’re present in our universe). This is taking the footage of a real life disaster for a fictionalized event.
