It would be great if the cops were penalized financially, but that police union is practically untouchable in the city of my birth. And I say this as someone who has relatives that are current and former members of the force.  I haven’t live there in 26 years so I see these goings on from a distance.

Well, then taxpayers should vote in governments that make reforms to prevent this kind of thing from happening.

Take the money from those cop’s pension and police budget. Like money ball you perform well you get to keep more. Fuck around then find out with reduced budget.

The fact that cops can sit and watch a murder unfold without consequence to them is not why there are no good cops. There are few to no good cops because a good cop would not need a rule to make them interfere. They should see a wrong and stop it.
