I saw a short video on YouTube by Daily Gist where it was removed. Seeing a Black surgeon carefully and tenderly attending to a Black woman’s hair and scalp moved me to tears. I was certain her hair was done. He found a way to resolve the problem while preserving what was important to her. It reminded me of the sister…
I mean, right?! I’m so happy for this chick and her head!! And thank God for a doctor that likes a challenge and is Up For It! I truly hope she just babies her hair and scalp with nothing but neutral shampoos and conditioners and a smooth, brushed to the back protective hairstyle to give herself a period of rest and…
Exellent. And guess what? She looks really, really cute with short, natural Black person hair.
You’re much nicer than I would be to the person who doesn’t know where the shift key is or how to use it.
it’s amazing, a lot of these guys (girls seem strangely smarting at not doing this), try over and over again, once you break your skull once on the pavement that should be a reason to call timeout.
I’d consider it more charity than reward. Things are going to get a lot uglier for her before they get better.
It’s the spray adhesive, like 3M 77, not the water-cure polyurethane adhesive in the bottle. But sure, Krazy Glue will depolymerize in acetone, which this will not.
Glad she’s getting expert, professional help for free. Shout-out to the Ghanaian-American brother helping a sister who couldn’t afford it otherwise. I hope she’s able to forge a new path because she’s damaged her credibility as a teacher of young people.
I don’t think she is getting rewarded. Not in any way I’d like to be anyhow.
Really? A quick google search of “teacher fired for racist comments” implies having a teaching degree does not impart any special wisdom. :)
I really hope so. I hope she doesn’t need skin grafts or something, which would probably mean no more proper follicles. All in all, I think we can be excused for an errant giggle here and there when this first came about. But knowing just how serious and likely life changing this is going to be for her... it’s just…
Certainly in the short term, hopefully the surgeon can help her avoid permanent damage and she comes through this with no worse after effects than forever being known as the reason Gorilla Glue also says “do not apply to scalp” on their products.
The hair is a lost cause. Always was. I’d be more concerned about not losing my scalp.
I mean I assume she spent that month trying to figure it out, but she probably also spent more time than was necessary just hoping it would fix itself. Hopefully she’s learned a lesson about reading product labels that she won’t soon forget.
Everyone fucks up, some more than others. One time I pissed into my pants. Not in, in-to. I was at work and dead sober, which made it worse.
But she is 40 years old. I mean, if a 40 year old teacher can’t comprehend the consequences of spraying the most permanent of permanent glues into your hair before doing it how can she be trusted to take care of children in the classroom? Would she have done this to some kids hair one day?
(Lawyer With Two Pringles Cans Stuck on His Hands): I’ll take the case!
She’s not suing. She’s threatening to sue on social media so people will contribute to her crowdfunding.
I imagine we’re going to hear from the “overly litigious society” contingent, and I happen to agree that Ms. Brown’s situation should not end up on Gorilla Glue. That said, the problem here is that someone literally has to pay for this, and, especially with our patchwork, profit-driven medical system, that means…
