@drsquirrel: I've found the opposite, Windows takes a lot of work, be it waiting through the install of the OS then all your apps, windows update, etc to downloading all the drivers necessary for your hardware. Running AV, anti-spyware, keeping all that up t date etc. Linux is a pop in the dvd, answer a couple

"Apps that are designed for use as illegal gambling aids will be rejected."

@JeffPom: Exactly, screen size if the major difference. My 9" netbook is well the size of a book, an 10,11,12" laptop is still the size of a laptop.

@interrogator_chaplain: with just a windows and CMOS password it would be easy enough to pull the drive, stick it in an external case and read the data

@Elhigh: A gernerac is technically a generator not a lawn mower. Techniccally a John Deere is a lawnmower

@Purple Dave: 11-11-11 is only a little over a year away

@ursa: I've been saying it for a long time, the execs of the carriers all get together once a year and decide what new policies to implement then divies out who does which one first. This year Verizon got to raise the ETF first then everyone else followed then AT&T ended unlimited plans then everyone else follows.

Even if some components are not working isn't there some antique value in stuff that old thats still complete. Hopefully at least he didn't chuck the parts in the trash and sold/gave to someone else that restores the old equipment.

Storing the receipt in/on the box is not a good idea. Receipts should be in your fireproof/resistant safe, some insurance companies won't pay for anything without it. if the house burns down, or basement floods you loos the boxes but the receipts you want to keep safe. Sure I scan mine but then they all go in the

I've installed all the others at one time or another but never really used them. Maybe its just me but I don't see any needed features missing (or why the iphone is 'better') from the stock app. I sit down at wok and either pick an album or shuffle all and go to work, or pop it in the car dock and do the same thing.

In my city all the hits are companies willing to contract their recycling services to other companies, none of them want to takw from individuals.

I did this in college. I would use cardboard, usually the back from a pad of graph paper or paper then glue a sheet of antistatif foam to it and put all the IC's in the foam then all the data sheets in the binder. So I had a while binder dedicated to the 555 timer and another for the 741 opamp and all its

@Michael Li: The big issue with IE is not brand, its too integrated with the OS.

"when you consider how some smartphones, in their quixotic quest to do and be everything, let the quality of the phone calls themselves fall by the wayside."

First issue is IE is only available for windows which I can't remember the last time I used at home.

They make plenty of sense. For one thing I'm not going to be able to buy 4 data plans for my family of 4. but putting price aside there is rarely anything that won't wait until I'm around wifi. I needed a smart phone because pda's are almost non existant these days and I need a calendar which I can use to juggle

Wow, glad I don't have any Apple crap, mine connected to my linksys wireless the first day and never had a problem.

@Deltido: I think someone doesn't remember the talking cars of the 70's
