It certainly seems they have broken the rules as the food is only for immediate family members. If however they shares the benefits between say it were 3 families in common still would break the rules but might not be so objectionable if they were giving food to people who need it. Same in some immigrant communities in the UK - your local teachers or religious leaders and the like will just report things back to your father. This is the trouble when you have insular closed off groups within a nation.

That’s the issue - FLDS bleed the beast, as they call it. If they supported their own families without drawing state benefits (and complied with the law) we would leave them alone.
