depends if it was jacked Batman Christian Bale or emaciated Machinist Christian Bale. One is definitely a lot more intimidating than the other.

I liked it a lot. Amy Adams and Bale make for a great tandem in any movie. I normally don’t like Bradley Cooper or Jennifer Lawrence, but they both really stood out in American Hustle. So yeah, great cast, setting, lots of humor and memorable scenes. It was a solid movie.
Darjeeling was my favorite but I still think Tenenbaums was the most Anderson. Though the costumes and set design in Grand Budapest were probably Anderson’s favorite ones.
little did you know that the human man is made up of lots of tiny cats in a human suit!
Good call ! Hopefully playing a relative of his evil creep from Grand Budapest. Yeah that briefcase man has a very Defoe chin.
I still think he was funnier on “Arrested Development” but his character was just a recurring one so we didn’t get the full Winkler effect like on “Barry”
I think that PTA has more variety in his filmography. Wes Anderson has a lot of the same themes in his movies, which even if they are in wildly different settings usually focus on wealthy and problematic families (or ersatz families) in decline. Grand Budapest and Bottle Rocket are the only ones I’ve that I think are…
I agree with you. Like, Darjeeling Limited had a very attractive actress in it, the Sweet Lime hostess, but she was more idealized by Jack instead of sexualized. Like, they did have sex but she was viewed as an escape from his past collapsing relationship, not like a hot piece of sexy sex.
I agree with most of your post, but I don’t get the Adrien Brody hate! I’m huge fan of that guy in most of his movies. Even if he’s in something that isn’t so great, or lets face it, is total schlock, he really seems dedicated to his roles. He doesn’t do the “Bruce Willis phoning it in for the checks” thing when he’s…
Yeah the construction of their roles in the show is rather unfair because Stonestreet’s Cam gets to be a lot more expressive, emotive, wild, and dramatic whereas Ferguson’s the “straight man” if you’ll pardon the expression and to the casual viewer is a lot more of a subdued role that doesn’t get as much attention.…
If you want some tasty footnotes/endnotes check out Susanna Clarke. This one amazing book of hers, “Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell” has like 200 of them. Not quite as long as “Infinite Jest”only 782 pages and definitely has a different style. However, the footnotes are one of my favorite parts.
That also reminds me of when they had Thomas Pynchon on there, sort of. Three times!
Yes, I agree. Because as much as I was impressed with Leto and Walton Goggins for being incredible in their roles the first time I saw them respectively in Dallas Buyers Club and Sons of Anarchy, I realized later that it would have been more powerful and impressive to actually have a transperson as part of the cast…
Aubrey Plaza hosting + Laura Dern celebration. Can’t go wrong there! Sorry Oscars.
The execs look like they want MGK to get R-U-N-N-O-F-T
ahhh we don’t want him either. Or Bieber.
That’s the first thing I thought of as well ! Props to MGK he seemed pretty game to get destroyed by Owens.
Where is Kevin Owens when you need him? That table was practically begging for MGK to get pop up powerbombed through it.
Same! Cain rocks. Damian is probably my favorite Robin (especially when Grayson is Batman during that Morrison run) though it takes a while for him to really feel like a full character and not a tiny edgy dickhead. Speaking of Dick I like him way more as Nightwing than as a Robin, so I’d probably go: Damian, Drake,…
