What is the point of separating models out by transmission and cab type? Assuming neither affects security, the Silverado is top of the list - I’m amazed I haven’t accidentally stolen one myself.

I’ve noticed this for years. Just didn’t think it was prevalent enough to mention. But definitely accelerated around the last product cycle of most cars I may bring to mind.

Yeah, this was the first thing that I noticed in that profile shot. It makes the car look like a sedan that was begrudgingly turned into a wagon.

The real problem is that it’s not automakers fault that people want giant SUVs that are quiet and have all the luxury. You can’t make a 5500 lb SUV with aerodynamics of a brick have great emissions. Until you penalize the CONSUMER for buying these behemoths, all talk about how vehicles affect the environment is stupid.

The manufacturing scaling problems would be a bigger issue if they hadn’t already learned some lessons during the Model S launch. They probably feel fairly confident on their technological lead and the times needed to scale to volume. Bear in mind at this point that the Model S 6 years old and even the mass market
