“What am I missing here?”

I have thought that so much highway driving would be improved with one radical law. They should make it a moving violation to get passed on the right. Obviously, with a few exceptions certain situations. But in general, on a multi-lane, limited-access highway, it should be a points-on-your-license ticketable violation

Portland, OR (and I think some other places, too), speed limit in a school zone is 20 MPH, always. What makes it stupid, among other things, is that it overrides any sign that facially restricts the speed limit to specific times. And there are many. So some streets have a sign that says, “School zone, 20 MPH when

Nothing more expensive than a cheap German car. CP.

If what you’re saying is exactly true, then the solution is obvious and easy. Park in the Tuesday spots (or wherever you want) and get one $45 ticket each week. That’s about $180 / month for parking. Great deal.

“...over 500 lb-ft of torque, the most of any Volkswagen production model to date...”

95 to 97 Odessey/ Isuzu Oasis. Def mini vans. Swinging rear doors.

Can confirm that Honda made a dog-hauler of that designation. My great dane approved.

I do. I try to buy the gas that matches what my owner’s manual says to put in the car. I forget which car, but at one point, one of my cars specified an octane rating that always in the middle, so I bought middle. I guess I should go re-read my owners manuals, becuase right now, I can’t remember which cars get what

Was that a distinct model from the Tercel, or a predecessor?

I bought the 135 because one day my wife’s car was in the shop and she couldn’t drive any of mine, and I felt like a jerk for having 3 cars, none of which my wife could drive when hers went into the shop. So I basically got rid of one of my other stick-shift cars, and picked something without 3 pedals, but something

Subaru SVX: flat 6 boxer with turbos, yes! great styling. By all reports, really well engineered. But it lacked the basic elements for practicality (normal windows, more doors, etc.) so it only ever could have succeeded as an enthusiast’s car/ niche car. But then, no manual transmission, and the manufacturer didn’t

I’m sure somebody’s said it, but Honda CRZ is the poster child for this.

It took one look at the BMW 135i, got scared, and gave up?

I set my min price filter to $11 to screen out all the ads at 1 or 10 bucks.

A 2000 VW Jetta 5 sp for $300. Probably a good deal, by the looks of things. Also saw a tempting Subaru legacy for the same price.

Yep, I’m lucky. I don’t really have a system for deciding. Whichever strikes my fancy. m3 is a manual, and the 135is has the DCT, so sometimes that influences the decision. I like each transmission for different reasons at different times.

Also, as a 135is driver, I also could not agree more! (wrt my prior comment, I have two cars: e90 m3 & 135is.)

Also as the owner of an e90 M3, I also agree wholeheartedly!
