Since this is on Jalopnik, can someone please identify the car? Thx.

Key fobs. It started with motorcycle riding, when I found I really liked having a highly visible fob on my keys. Then, at some point, I had two Honda cars (Odyssey & s2000). Since I never have extra stuff on my car keys, I needed something to tell those keys apart. I bought fobs with the Odyssey & s2000 logos on them.…
I’m pretty certain this is one of Chris Bangle’s early designs (which makes your comment very amusing). I strongly suspect that i’m late to the thread, though, and that someone else has already called “Bangle!” on this. But yes, I’m serious, I think this is an early Bangle.
Wouldn’t that top car have looked better if they had simply left out that broad silver band that inset into the grill? I suspect there’s an after-market mod for that. That’s all they needed to do. They’re trying to hard to get a signature grill, a la bmw or Mercedes, and wasting too many clock cycles on losing, failed…
The biggest problem with the BMW blinker stalk design is as follows. If you are driving in a straight line, and think your blinker might be on (e.g., because maybe it didn’t auto-cancel after an on-ramp), there is no action you can take that would would definitely cancel that would not also turn it on in the opposite…
so a McLaren F1? My memory is foggy, but aren’t there a few mr3 supercars from that era?
Google et al., should be required to hold some form of public trials in which their vehicles will drive autonomously for 16 hours or a couple of days over a few well-defined city blocks. During that period, the public—people like you—are allowed to freely seed the road with any hazards you can think of. No real…
That is exactly what happened. It’s a perfectly defensible surmise to state the BRZ driver’s subjective mental intention, because we all do it, and it is totally obvious what he was doing. Had he not closed the gap, he was at risk of getting stuck behind a slow-ass Camry/ SUV pair holding up the entire road. i would…
that was pretty painful to watch. I sincerely hope that the Camry’s insurance company takes proper car of the guy who was hit. I also sincerely hope that the Camry driver does not get behind the wheel again for a long time.
Honestly, myself being a lawyer and having driven and ridden in countless cars, I suggest an approx. 2013 Acura TL—it ticks all the boxes. I got an uber ride in a 2017 Accord the other day, and it was really, really nice. Super comfortable. I dd a 2009 bmw 328i, and it’s kind of a dud, but nice enough. But the last…
This article contains video that auto-plays when the Jalopnik home page loads. That’s being a bad web citizen. Please disable the autoplay videos. One more instance of this, and I will permanently block foxtrot alpha via my script blocker, and I will encourage all others to do so as well.
Another vote for San Andreas. It got out enough mechanical and graphical kinks to be playable over time. You can play it today, and it doesn’t feel bass-ackwards or old-timey. It had a great balance of grit and lunacy, from being poor in LA to flying by jetback. It was *fun*, whereas IV wasn’t so much.
I put NP . How else do you get 8 flat cylinders w 50/50 distribution?
Uhm, can’t talk about it on a public website? I think for a lot of folk, the “most memorable date in a car” is going to be NSFW.
Yep. Go into a corner too hot? Well, that sucks. But here’s what you do. Look where you want to go. Literally, point your eyeballs at the place where you want your car or bike to end up in a moment. Simultaneously with that, do not add to brake or throttle. Essentially try to keep your throttle, wherever it is, the…

I just watched ‘The Secret Life of Pets’. Decent animated movie, and most adult couples would probably enjoy it. However, I was intensely focussed on the cars. I swear it was deliberate, but any given car was on-screen for only a moment (except for a couple of plot-specific ones (mini) or NY specific ones (P71)). But…
cool story time. When I was a teen in the ‘80s, my dad got remarried. My step-mom’s dad had been some high-up mucky-muck in engineering at Chrysler. So everybody in her family had Chrysler products and everyone got a new one every year. Everyone in that family was a company man, so to speak. My dad even joined the…
I wish there were a way to slap new riders in the head and make the absorb teh concept of hyper-vigilance.
Agreed. I was grossly oversimplifying. My qualification was that Honda’s cb500-something bikes out since about 2013 are probably great starter bikes. They will last longer into your riding career than a 250 cc rebel, but much less likely to get you in trouble than a 1200 cc Bandit. Again, I agree with you. It is much…
