Say what you want about the overall quality of the movie (it was... fine), but as a film with mostly indoor shots, outdoor scenes set along nondescript streets, and filmed mostly on location in Vancouver, feel like calling it a love letter to San Francisco is a big stretch

I don’t think this is a spoiler but... while it might seem like in the intial volume or two of Punpun that he and his family are the bird-like creatures, they 100% are not. It’s laid out explictly that he and his family are normal people, with them being drawn as such in some scenes. I don’t know if Asano has laid out…
