You are entitled to your opinion. I am entitled to think it is a bad one.

I played Fallout 2, Tactics, 3, NV, and 4. I never cared too much for 2 and I barely remember Tactics, and while I really liked the gameplay of 3, it didn’t scratch the itch, so to speak. NV was... trash, when it first came out (the bugs, Games for Windows Live... /shudder) but the quality was finally actually up

At least AI art is subjectively interesting if you like to follow the workings of artificial intelligence/algorithmic patterning. NFTs aren’t interesting, they’re literally the shitty monetization of “oc dont steal”.

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: Square Enix is disappointed in the sales of one of its games. Tomb Raider, Hitman, Outriders, Guardians of the Galaxy—it’s a long list, and Forpsoken just got added to it.

Slideshows are why I don’t whitelist Kotaku. That and autoplay videos.

And if they hadn’t been so heavy-handed in trying to force the use of the Gamepad in situations where it was unnecessary, added nothing to the gameplay that made up for its inclusion, or was absolutely suboptimal to do so (looking at you, Star Fox Zero).

It was trying way too hard to be a corporate satire and that caused the suspension of disbelief to suffer. Very much wasn’t subtle at all and it caused a lot of moments to lack substance for me.

Ehhhh, I wouldn’t call it mediocre, just not as good as the clear inspiration for it. It was fun enough, but way too linear and several characters arrive too late for substantial development. One of the nice things about NV was that you could futz off the beaten path and encounter a lot of NPCs and party members early

It’s not even a matter of baggage or nostalgia goggles; the game was too short and limited for the price they were asking for, and they were name-dropping FNV all over the place during the pre-release hype so it was clear that they wanted it compared favorably. I’m talking specifically from an amount of content and

Outer Worlds was great? I remember it being more like Diet FNV. It wasn’t BAD, mind you, but it was way too short, had too few areas to explore, and not a whole lot to do outside the main quest. Maybe they added more past the firsty DLC, I dunno.

I mean... the differences were really stark back then, so a term like that made sense at the time. I also don’t think Yoshi-P has much room to complain considering Square bought into the whole “westerners are too dumb for RPGs” thing that brought us Mystic Quest and neutered parts of FFIV.

I state that because your argument was that you were more likely to have played Super Circuit multiplayer with friends over playing Mario Kart 64 with friends, which is demonstrably wrong due to the factors explained above.

“Providing false information" is the key phrase here. A lie by omission is still a lie. I do not agree with you.

Apples and oranges; Mario Kart 64 consistently falls in the top ten games to own on N64, usually in the top 5. Meanwhile, many lists have to reach top 50 just to include Super Circuit at all on GBA lists, and as said, link cables weren’t heavy in circulation until Pokemon started moving them.

That may be so, but I can speak from a relatively solid position that there were not a lot of link cables circulating until the release of Pokemon R&S (believe it or not, I was one of those legendary kids that had an uncle who worked at Nintendo during the N64, Gamecube, and GBA eras), nearly two years after Super

I mean, it DOES do that... by not making it clear that your “score” was being weighted in such a way. A video game is not a person; the only information you have is what the game displays to you, and if it hides that information but still dings you for using certain characters over others, then you are, by your

Admittedly I would be very sad if Elden Ring didn’t give us DLC packs.

I played the original PS2 release, and Kanji never seemed gay to me even with his over-the-top Shadow. Rather, I felt like the Shadows didn’t represent a “true self” more than it represented the repressed parts of oneself. That tracks so far given what the game tells us about them.

I know, right? This feels like it's in the same vein as complaining about the change to egg spawning making it more difficult to shiny hunt... when any cursory glance makes it obvious that it's just as fast if not faster.

...winding up?
