I wouldn’t be surprised that Google just bought them for their patents (ala Motorola Mobility) and just now got around to shopping them out. I would assume that they will get to keep rights to the patents after the sale...

I haven’t seen so many 30 somethings in one place since the last time I went to the tasting room at Ballast Point.

Note that if you are obese or older and overweight, you probably shouldn’t start off running, as the extra weight will be bad for your joints. Start off walking and work your way up in exercise activity as you weigh down (lose weight).

I had a 71 super beetle when I got my first job out of college (it was my college beater car). I was going up an on ramp and ran over some rumble strips on the side of the road on the asphalt. All of a sudden, I no longer have a connection to my rear wheels from the engine (manual transmission). I assume a

Garages are the basements of SoCal. That’s why everyone parks in their driveways or streets, as their garages are usually packed full of crap.

The 928 was a fast car in its day. I believe it was the fastest production car in 1983 (I’m guessing on the year from memory). Of course, FAST in 1983 was pretty SLOW (probably around 155 MPH).

I want that shirt!

I think that’s the happiest I’ve ever seen him look in a photo.

15K miles and needs timing belt replacement?

I’m wondering, was the new timing chain guide still plastic, or do they have upgraded replacement parts? It would seem kind of silly to just put the same thing back in there.

I don’t have an issue with running in ear buds due to too much outside sound deadening, but the main issue is the “dub dub dub” sound created from the vibration from my feet hitting the ground. It’s utterly unbearable for running, so I have to use loose fitting buds.

Yup, my guess is the better quality (second) video didn’t get the beginning part up top, so they used the first video for that and spliced in the better one for the finish.

There’s still plenty of the 100,000 mile plus, weatherbeaten, un-maintained 928s out there for “ridiculous cheap money”, but if you try to put them back to working stock, it cost way more than the car would be worth.

I just dropped $3.5K on refurbishing the A/C on my all original ‘85 928S at the shop (the only one in San Diego county that will work on them). These guys probably dropped that entire engine in there for that. So, there’s something to be said for the financial responsibility of modding...

“buffing the headlights”

The title alone was worth it all.

“flailing with a stiff-elbowed flagellation arm”

Look at that leg room. This is the perfect sized person for a Miata.
