The game map scale is 1:20. In game time is scaled to match real life. Meaning if it takes 8 hours to drive to Los Angeles in real life, it’ll take 8 hours in game time. Not sure how long 8 hours in game time translates to real life time though. Preey sure I can drive from LA to Phoenix in less than a half hour.

Roger Ebert’s review gives you a very good idea what it was like to see the film when the young audience were expecting to see another cheesy horror film.
