A quick BDSM scene, complete with whips and chains, foregrounds Pip’s time with Havisham, turning the feminist subtext of Dickens into text. ... Havisham and Estella treat him as their boy toy, with responsibilities including hide and seek, dance lessons, and forcing him to lose his virginity to a sex-positive member

This sounds like a show Jenna would do on 30 Rock:

what a weirdly hostile reaction to what sounds like a healthy and respectful dialogue between two creative professionals who have worked together for multiple years

Now Ozzy will only tour for evil!

Oh this really, really hurts. Genuinely fantastic show, one of the best comedies from the last few years. The fact that so many vapid franchise shows reign supreme and wonderfully artful shows like this get canned is heartbreaking and portentous of television’s future, metrics be damned. Long live Tati. :’(

First, did Stanford ever ask what this football player was doing in public? Why wasn’t he home studying or in class? If he’d been where he was supposed to be, instead of out with his friends, he wouldn’t have gotten coffee spilled on him. Assaults never happen at home or in class, and he should have known that.

Yep!

Brita so far gives me Miz Cracker after six espressos. And yes that is the cruelest thing I have ever said (I really don’t like Cracker).

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again:

I can't believe they are already replacing all of the unfinished hands with walkie talkies.

I can’t tell if making the lead actress about eleven years old or so would clear up the problem, or make it so much worse . . .

Made a Letterboxd list if anyone is interested.

“Bay, a filmmaker who only really understands laughing if it’s accompanied by pointing.”

Oh, well, if the actor says something in a promo thing, in that case, I take it all back.

I go the other way. The fact that JJ Abrams has issues with The Last Jedi only confirms my feeling that it’s a masterpiece.

Yeah, the fact that this article specifically mentions Tony sacrifice in Endgame and doesn’t mention Black Widow at all is glaring.

I don’t think there’s anything cooler than an audience spontaneously bursting into cheering and applause. It’s not like people were carrying on conversations, the movie just had that powerful of an impact on them. I loved watching it.

The audience excitement is part of the fun for me. I enjoyed being part of something that had emotional impact on the crowd. Toward the end when the portals opened and everyone came out, a guy in the theater stood up and yelled,"Wakanda forever!" and it was awesome.
