This is what I don’t even understand about this argument — how often are we actually referring to Brazillians or Haitians when we discuss “Latinos” in this country? We’re almost always referring to immigrants from Mexico, Cuba, the “banana republics” in Central America or Puerto Ricans who moved to the mainland. The

You have it backwards. Hispanic refers to the Roman province of Hispania, which is modern-day Spain. Latino/a refers to Latin, which was the language the Romans spoke and was a forerunner to the modern-day languages of Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and French. Thus French-Canadians are also part of “Latin America” even

You know who does care? Hillary Clinton. She would not be making any effort at all to appeal to Sanders’ supporters if she did not care about his endorsement or think it was not important.

You know what this means, right?

AP takes strides in absolute gender neutrality (“letter carrier” instead of “mail man”) while NYT prides itself on being the “old guard” of journalistic writing. It wasn’t that long ago that the NYT would have had her referred to as “Mrs. Bill Clinton.”

The NYT uses their own style book which is different than the otherwise nearly universally used Associated Press style. One of the biggest distinctions between the two style books is that the NYT still insists on using customs that were common in the 19th century like referring to people as Mr. and Mrs.

Why do some people still use 19th century phrases like “darkest Africa” or Trump the other day saying we “tamed the West?” At least Joseph Conrad and Louis L’Amour had the saving grace of being good writers.

It really was a dick move on Dumbledore’s behalf to torment the little kids in Slytherin by telling them they won. They even decorated the hall in their colors and everything.

120 people, including 104 donors to Bernie Sanders’ campaign, have sued embattled Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz and the DNC for fraud, negligent misrepresentation, and breach of fiduciary duty, among other claims, alleging that Wasserman Schultz favored Hillary Clinton and misled DNC

He did identify himself as Latino at least once

When Sarah Palin plays Civilization she always plays as America and she renames the default cities of New York and San Francisco and Seattle to “REAL AMErICA” and “WASILLA” and “MAMMA GRIZZLY.”

The Las Vegas Being Trapped in a Car on Fire sounds really good!

Okay, if you're going to point a loaded weapon at a human being, fine, that's one thing. But for goodness sakes, please watch your language, Tavaris.

It took me a second to figure out that the little red line on his shirt was FUCKING BLOOD POURING FROM HIS BRAINS OH MY GOD THIS RUINED MY DAY

I laughed really hard at that and now I feel terrible

I was thinking Picard was Bernie because they’re both bald but your analogy is much better thought out.

No no no, Chakotay is more like Merrick Garland. He’s fairly accomplished but you don’t really like the guy, but a desperate situation arises and you have to say, “shit, I guess he has my support now.”

If Captain Janeway is analogous to Hillary Clinton, does that mean that Picard is the Star Trek equivalent of Bernie Sanders? I guess Sisko is Obama. But then who is Kirk? Maybe he’s Kennedy? And Archer?

I thought that was John Kerry

How does replacing a senator work in New Jersey? Is the replacement appointed by the governor or is there a special election? If it’s the former, then Booker is out of the question because that would mean Chris Christie would pick his replacement (this is why Sherrod Brown, who would largely fulfill what Warren and
