Bigger scum in sports: War Machine or Jerry Sandusky?
It's very difficult to see, but at around 0:22 you can see the car merging onto the highway and trying to cut across to get into the left-most lane. Ridiculously stupid and dangerous.
The asshole in the work truck who just drove right through needs to be thrown off a bridge.
I never really thought that it was possible to say that line incorrectly. The words are already there for you, and the tone and cadence have been pretty much perfected as much as they can by people who came before you.
Here's the thing — the animal is being swallowed but it is not necessarily dead. Ever touch a snake's belly after it ate and you see the food squirm? Unless it already constricted the animal long enough for it to be killed, it's not dead. And if the snake starts swallowing without having to give chase, then it can be…
No, they do not have to eat live animals, they eat mice. The mouse does not have to be alive for them to eat it. I'm not asking snakes to go vegan.
I never said snakes don't eat mice. Snakes can be taught to eat frozen mice (defrosted) so the mouse doesn't suffer. In the wild a mouse has a fair shot of escaping its fate. In a controlled environment, the only option is violent death. This is a pretty straight forward point here — live-feeding is cruel. Not to…
I didn't mean that as a sweeping generalization of all snake owners, though I can see why it came off that way. I was attempting to point out that there are some snake owners who refuse to feed frozen food because they're grossed out by defrosting them and touching them and smelling them and so on, not that all snake…
I'm starting to wonder if South Florida in particular is just unfriendly to snakes? There are PetSmart and PetCos down here that don't stock any snake food at all (they usually don't carry snakes either, though). And the local non-chain pet stores here only carry live mice.
No, that's not what I meant. I seem to be shitty at articulating my points tonight. I know that any snake can be taught to take frozen food. I'm trying to say that the dependence on live food over frozen can be completely driven out of snakes with selective breeding so that they reach the point where the snakes no…
I've seen it occur a bit too often, unfortunately, so it's first-hand info as well as encounters online. The fact that it happens at all is unfortunate. I'm grateful that you don't live feed. My point is not that snakes shouldn't eat (I'd never say that; I love all animals), but that live-feeding is cruel (and…
That's an excellent point; I'd like to believe any responsible snake owner wouldn't feed their pet food that threatens to harm their pet. I don't know any numbers — whether live-feeding or frozen food is more common — but I see live-feeding occur way too often. Hell, just look at all the snuff on YouTube (note: do NOT…
Kingsnakes are pretty fast eaters from what I know. They don't tend to fuck around like most over snakes. And carnivorous lizards and spiders can take forever to consume their still-living victims. There honestly needs to be a more effective and humane way of killing mice than suffocation or drowning, but again, this…
There needs to be a better and wider variety of pre-packaged foods for carnivorous reptilian and amphibian pets, no doubt. I don't know much about pre-packaged crickets, but a common thing I hear when it comes to rodents is that not enough suppliers carry rats for the larger snakes and lizards. Owners of those pets…
No, I am not saying the snake should not eat. I have never said that. I am only against live feeding.
I agree in the strict sense that the OP mentioned. When put into the context of this video, the woman assumed that the man was Muslim based on his skin color, which is racist. Not to mention all the other racist crap she spews.
Probably Darren Wilson's wife or something.
I don't believe wanting to treat all animals with respect is a silly complaint. There are more humane alternatives to live-feeding that ought to become standard practice. No one deserves to die a violent death. In the wild it's a fair game, but in a controlled environment it's a death sentence. Rodents aren't exactly…
I have no issue with snakes eating meat. I'm not asking for carnivorous animals to become vegan, because that would be stupid. I believe that live-feeding should be put to an end, and snake owners should have to purchase pre-killed snake food that was raised humanely. I think this is a fair idea.
