I wonder if a browser extension exists that replaces “This X” with the actual subject of the article. If so, can you write up a piece about it? LH could even title it “Ditch (Some) Baity Headlines with This Extension.” Burying the subject from the headline gives the impression of a lack of confidence in the piece to

I’d be very happy with no more Facebook. Also the “that’s how they keep it free” argument falls flat with me because if I care that much about a site, I’d be willing to pay to remove the ads. With some sites I already do. Lastly, they discuss browser ad-blockers quite often on Lifehacker in a way that would affect

Same here. By that point I may even be able to push it until the inevitable slim/pro models drop at which point the early titles will be cheaper. I’m sure I can find a game or twenty in my extensive backlog to tide me over.

Keep in mind you have to be on ‘Full’ telemetry mode. It makes sense since you’re testing new OS versions so they want to track everything about it for improvements but it’s still important to keep in mind. I’ve come across multiple people online thinking they could jump into one of these rings purely just to check

Whoever wrote your headline has zero confidence in the piece itself or they wouldn’t feel the need to bury the subject to entice people to read the article. It implies you have nothing important to add and need to rely on finding out the subject itself to make your article worth reading. You deserve better.

For me, price is a number when compared to my bank account.

Did Alienware design this?

SponsorBlock is another great extension that, once a single viewer submits the timestamps, will automatically jump over the sponsored segments of videos. They also just added support for other categories such as intro animations, like/subscribe reminders, and end cards.

A tweet of info in article form is becoming the new norm. Some of the tech sites I read started doing it as well.

In that case, feel free to replace writer with the-person-that-writes-the-headline.

Any time a writer replaces the subject in the headline with “this X” it gives me the impression they lack confidence in the quality of the piece because otherwise they wouldn’t feel the need to bury the subject to get people to read it.

For me, it’s a toss up between that and could of/should of/would of.

For me, the final nail in the coffin was when it became acceptable for literally to mean figuratively.

An audio only app that lets you talk to contacts on your phone? World-changing idea! Maybe they could keep it simple by calling it something like ‘Phone.’

They used to, or at least people found ways in the past to do it unofficially, but then it got abused to all-hell, likely by many trying to use it as their only internet connections. Downloading things such as OS updates, full-sized video games, streaming at full quality for their TV, and any other type of sizable

Last I saw this was a pretty significant seller for Nintendo. Why does it get passed over completely for DLC when their other big entries get loads of content? An extra board or two would be highly welcome.

#Corrections: The article spells it Phillip while the book spells it Philip.

Wait ‘til you find out about Frets On Fire. You hold your keyboard upside down in your arms like a guitar and use the F keys to play a Guitar Hero type game.

I did this ages ago on Flash Flash Revolution. There’s a blast from the past.

I’ve had a great history with the Tiger Woods PGA Tour games and even got my very-non-gamer grandfather to play once I taught him how to use the joystick to swing. I’ll likely pass on this since I won’t have him to play it with me but I’m glad to see it being made for those who want it.
