Wait a minute, there are bars now? I don't remember bars in E:D. I also flew to the edge of civilized space once, but it was a boring edge, with nothing of particular note there.

A lot of people liked it, but I could never forgive it for wrapping up (sort of) one particular story lead, which I found boring, and not another, in which I was interested.

2020? That's optimistic. I mean, not even sarcastically optimistic — 15 was a 2017 release, and big games take TIME.

You know what always bugged me as cheap? On-screen targeting reticules. Real men turned those off, too.

It takes a bit more effort to really enjoy 19th century prose, and that effort just keeps growing the further in time you go back.

For a while I was into arcade emulation, and I really embraced that old-school ethos. I remember playing Vindicators, this old tank game, and Metal Slug 2, over and over, from the beginning, one coin no continue mode. It kept my play sessions to a reasonable time, and I started getting pretty good.

Seriously, voiced dialog single-handedly killed the RPG for a number of years, as all of a sudden storage constraints meant that real dialog was impossible. Even with modern tech, it's still infeasible, because of the price of voice acting - and not even desirable, given the time required to listen to it all. imagine T

With any luck, the Star Citizen spin-off Squadron Something-or-other will hit the Wing Commander sweet spot. I also hear Freespace 2 was pretty good, but it's hard to get it running these days.

Especially remembering the epic disappointment of Star Control 3. There is a Star Control 4 in the works, being published by Stardock. I am somewhat worried. Star Control 2 was, in truth, absolutely perfect.

Yay, another Hollow Knight fan! Yes, it is wonderful.

Well, I had been playing Stellaris for a while, but then I screwed up something in the endgame on Ironman, and … well … don't feel like putting another 30 hours or so into another game. I was happy with my time in that universe, and I wouldn't mind reading a bit more of the writing and whatnot, and I have all kinds of

Nier: Automata and Prey. Both of them are truly excellent games that have never been on sale before, so I don't feel all THAT bad about it … but … I have so much stuff leftover from previous sales or Humble Monthly … but …

Congrats on finally getting into the game, and powering towards completion! Should you play again on a higher difficulty, though, I'd strongly recommend building up a much bigger team to go alongside your favorite core 6 or 8. Oh, and look into the Long War mini-mods, like for classes, or extra enemies - they add a

I have always thought that a basic RPG with a fighting game for it's combat system would be wicked fun, and I've been surprised that nobody has never done it.

If you like thin-crust pizzas at all, than St. Louis pizza is edible. It's a bit on the sweet side, yes, but that just makes it different.

Native Angeleno here. I have had wet burritos, made properly by residents of the true Burrito Homeland. They can be pretty good. Take a burrito, cover it in shredded cheese, and pour on a hot red or green sauce. Not usually my thing, as they are definitely "oversized plate burritos" rather than "pick it up burritos",

I absolutely loved Hearts of Stone, and thought it was the most affecting bit of content in the whole game. It was great precisely because it was so low-key, and seemingly low-stakes.

I ran signs, so Griffon was a no-brainer, until I got to Touissant, where Manticore rocked with my potions build and the mutations to accompany it.

Stellaris is my game this week. I got it on the Humble Monthly, and it caught me by surprise. I'd tried to get into 4x games again a couple times lately, and had been thinking that I had just soured on the genre entirely, but there is something about all the building and the stories that I am really enjoying.

Let's all pour one out for V1.0 …
