I've actually made quite a few Let's Play videos … of a board game. I'm a bit of a Memoir '44 fanatic, and have recorded, edited, and posted quite a few videos of play on my YouTube channel. My regular gaming partner and I had ideas for all kinds of upgrades to the series, including a series that analysed particular

I think this weekend is going to feature a lot more drinking than gaming.

I was really, really happy with the "don't show the numbers behind dialog choices" option. I really have no clue what options are what, and it frees me up to say what I think is most appropriate at the time.

Admittedly, Red Orchestra 2 just isn't as good as RO1. I'll never forgive them for adding that the mini-zoom to rifles on iron sights, because of what it does to the viability of long-range cover.

I don't play many fighting games. The one that really hooked me was Samurai Showdown 3 on the NeoGeo arcade cabinet. I actually got fairly competent at that game … without using any moves. Yep, I learned how to play and win with only the 4 basic attacks, and good timing. You could do that with SS3, which is a

Well, you see, the group EXILE was really popular about 5 or 6 years ago. Go look at them, and the design meetings are easy to imagine.

How has no one mentioned Likitongue, the most perversely wrong pokemon of all time?

As Whovian said, get a wired 360 controller and all is well.

StarControl 2 SuperMelee

I'm really loving this game too. I'm not sure they quite hit all the notes they were aiming for with the animancy/divinity:science/religion analogy, but it's been interesting that they tried, and a lot of the plot is substantially different from what we've seen in games before. I'm especially loving the optional

I didn't mind my blank character. I made a blank paladin right at the beginning. Even though she never said anything aside from generic grunts, she was such an integral part of my battle team that she had a personality of her own - the stabby spear paladin.

That is such a hard question. Mind you, I'm only about halfway through Pillars, I think, but I've put a ton of hours in.

If you like games about working you way up the prison ladder, you should check out the Riddick game, escape from butcher bay or something. It's really well regarded.

Get the Codex of Ultimate wisdom. Seriously, how amazing would that be to have? How much would the world be improved by the presence of a truly all knowing, and all wise source of advice and support?

80 days is really, really good.

Yeah, that was a real disappointment to lovers of innovative art styles in games.

Glad you finally watched the whole of Stalker. I love that movie, and the original Solaris as well.

I'm crap for art history, but damn I loved the art in Transistor, and that Klimt print made me think of the Inquisition Tarot cards right off, and thus I was glad to see them mentioned.

Ultima V is incredibly old-school and creaky, but has one of the most detailed, best-functioning worlds ever made for an RPG. Travel is also pretty epic, because the map is huge. But it's old, and hard for the sake of being hard, and you have to memorize a bizarre spell alphabet and ingredients, and take LOTS of

I'd second both Banner Saga and Card Hunter. I was a bit of a Banner Saga fanboy, so take that with a grain of salt, but Card Hunter is legitimately a TON OF FUN.
