Oh, and of course, Netrunner.

I find myself utterly disinterested in Beyond Earth. I was a massive fanatic for Alpha Cen, which was definitely my favorite of all Civ games, period, but something just leaves me feeling kinda meh about Beyond Earth. I may get over that in time, but for now, it's a no.

The Mirage block was just incredibly beautiful. I also have a soft spot for the Dark expansion's art. The cards were pretty crappy, but things like Witch Hunter and Dust to Dust were bizarre and freaky in the best way.

Ugh, I always see these threads so late now. They are scheduled for the total dead-zone of my internet time, exhausted friday late-afternoons, after I've taught 4 classes in a row and my head is buzzing with fatigue.

Who knows what I shall play. Life has been busy of late, and I've found myself searching for a game I can settle into comfortably for a while. Instead, I've been bouncing around really difficult gaming experiences that I just don't have the time or energy to really learn properly.

Cities and Knights is really, really good. I played a ton of it a while ago on a questionably legal online portal, and can't really enjoy the standard game any more. It is simply excellent.

I really enjoyed the Naruto games for the Gamecube. The controls were more or less lifted from SmashBros, and it was a good thing. Timing was interesting and complex, and the battling did not rely much on counters, invulnerabilities, or move precedence. I know some people will never accept them as real fighting

Banner Saga was a definite hit for me. That game was awesome.

Super late post here, but whatever.

Wing Commander, Ultima VII, Doom, Starcraft.

Oculus, Control VR, and Boogio combined into a single seamless interface system would make for killer driving and flight sims. Hands on the actual virtual controls, feet on the virtual pedals, free look around the cockpit . . . not having used any of the tech, it sounds awesome. I'd be down to spend a chunk of

For me, this would have to be the StarControl 2 Super-Melee. I doubt there's a single ship in the lineup that I couldn't play competently right now, even though I've not touched that game in years and years. It became a competitive gaming staple at my college program's rec room. I was ace with the Spathi and

That mother question is great.

If you could have used any licensed character from any form of media in your game, who or what would it have been, and why?

In Mother Russia, T-34 drives you!

On the same topic . . .

Seconded.

You know, I could totally get behind DOTA as a turn-based game, online or offline. That would be awesome.

Wow, super-retro gaming seems to be in the air today. I'm having none of it! None of it, I say. And, well, very little gaming in general, I suspect.

The one game that I feel I actually, truly speed run was Solitaire for windows. The majority of games were unwinnable, so the key to the game was recognizing an unwinnable set as quickly as possible and moving on. I just kept aiming to be faster and faster, and called it quits when I won a game in 8 seconds.
