To your ETA: yes, you don't have authorship privileges, that's what that thread was about, the ability to start threads. But anyone can post. And we have regular threads where people can toss their names in to request authorship.

Anyone can post to GT, GT is an open forum. You might be gray at first, but usually that doesn't last too long. People tend to be very helpful if you have a specific request or question, as evidenced by the fact that this post has already been shared to GT. ;-)
