My parents split up when I was 4 or 5 years old, so my mother was raising the three of us mostly on her own (we’d go to my dad’s place every second weekend). She was a flight attendant and my dad probably never paid quite as much child support as he should have, so money was always tight, which meant we didn’t have

I’m always impressed at how people figure this stuff out. Like a lot of things in these games, it’s not that difficult to execute once you know what you’re doing, but there’s an impressive level of attention to detail and observation, and then the ability to figure out how make use of what you see, that I just don’t

I don’t really play anymore, and there is definitely some truth to the Skinner Box addiction loop being a factor, but Destiny is one of the best-feeling FPS games I’ve ever played. The movement and shooting are incredibly well tuned, the guns feel satisfyingly different from one another — and even from themselves when

Congrats! I’m glad to hear more people are starting to be able to find them.

Hitman 3. I got it up & running with all the stuff from the prior two games loaded in last night, but only got through the first mission once before I had to do other things around the house. Looking forward to getting to spend some time with it. We’re supposed to get snow Saturday night/Sunday, so there won’t be much

Granted that last night the carry-over website seemed to be completely down, but this morning I managed to link accounts and carry over progress relatively painlessly. Would I have liked to play last night? Of course! But ultimately I’m going to put a lot of time into this game and missing out on one evening of

Wow, there is an awful lot of talent on display in that collection. Some great stuff.

I don’t often get particularly excited for new releases, but I am really looking forward to more Hitman. If they can keep up what they’ve done with the last two games, it should be great. It’s amazing how IOI managed to make a game about murder so damn funny.

While I’m supposed to be playing Dark Souls 3, I seem to just keep going back to Demon’s Souls instead. In part because it’s still new, shiny and loads in the blink of an eye, but I think it might mainly be because it’s a bit easier and I’ve beat it recently, so I know where to go & what to do. There are fewer

I have definitely fallen into that trap. Magic is very powerful in Demon’s Souls so that was my first build before going to a 1H/shield Dex build the second time. I have Faith and Str builds in progress now and I’m looking forward to getting a Very Big Sword for the Str build eventually.

It is quite good. Obviously there aren’t a ton of PS5 games out yet, but PS4 games are just so stable running on it and load times are noticeably improved. Actually, I messed around with Destiny 2 just to check it out, and at 4k/60FPS it almost makes me want to play that game again. Almost.

To be fair, I put it down for nearly six months near the end before going back to finish the main game and DLC. It’s a thing I do with games sometimes, for reasons I can’t quite pin down (honestly, my reasons probably differ between games), but I was glad I went back.

I strongly relate to your wife’s Skyrim problem.

Ha! I was wondering where you’d been. Glad it was technical issues and not something else!

Well Demon’s Souls is incredibly good, so even after two full clears and a decent chunk of an NG+ run, I still have two different characters/builds I’m playing at the moment. It also inspired me to go back to Dark Souls 3, which is good too! It’s quite a contrast from the relative simplicity of Demon’s Souls - there

I’m also on a Souls kick right now. The first one falls off somewhat after Anor Londo (due to rushed production, from what I’ve heard), but it’s still definitely worth playing. But Bloodborne is incredible. You should really get back to that...

That Sackboy comment is interesting. My GF is not much of a gamer, but we’ve kind of wanted something fairly low impact that we can play together for a while. Maybe that will be a good start. Thanks!

I agree. In the most bizarre twist, the controllers charge via a USB-C port on the front, but the included charging cable is old USB to USB-C for some damn reason, instead of just USB-C on both ends. I’m sure it has to do with cost, but still...

Never before have I had any desire for PSVR, but this has definitely piqued my interest. At the very least it would give me a great excuse to replay the first two games (which are great - honestly, if you haven’t played them, you probably should).

There is one USB-C on the front, but as you are no doubt aware, nearly all accessories for... everything... are still the old USB standard.
